vu duo wont flash or read usb??????

i have a clone vu duo version 3 will not flash through usb nor will flash through vu util will connect to com port in vu util when i click on connect it says fail to open really stuck need some advice thanks

try another usb,vu can be fussy in what works.

Have you also tried any of the other USB ports on the rear for instance.

Yes none of the usb read the usb

Was it working when you got it?
What version is the box?
Did you load bootloader and if so which one?
Did you load an image?
Did you unzip file before putting on usb?
Did you reboot box after putting bootloader on?
Did you format stick after bootloader and then put image on?
Did you then reboot after image reflash?

If you have the Null modem cable and Security IC board your only option is to flash that way first then try a 3rd party image afterwards again via USB

When you say will not let you connect through 'ip' you dont mean trying to flash through Ethernet do you as the VU has to ne flashed through a serial port on a PC/laptop

Yes the only flash program I can see is vu util which ask for ip of duo is there any program for just serial port connection using nfi

Yes from the VU website that is the only way of flashing the clones as i would say cleanly is via RS232

Thanks I have tried this but once I click flash it says fail to open it opens up serial fine then says turn on box which I do then I try connect again and it says failed to open and can't go any further

If you have a hard drive connected m8, disconnect the power cable and sata cable and then try and flash it.

Also consider that the Clones will not flash via RS232 unless you have a so called hard wired serial port and not the adaptor type as the latter will not work.
