    Vuduo problem recording with mgcamd

    Hi the problem i have is when i am recording one channel and go to watch another i just get a black screen, only channels i can watch are fta while recording sly or if i carry on watching the channel im on and a timer starts it records a black screen. Im using the latest vix image with mgcamd 1.35. If i use cccam i can watch and record without any problems. I have 2 lines installed. Any advice would be much appreciated. I was wondering if ive got my config file set wrong. Thanks

    Are you using a static and a motorized dish ?, if not why are you using 2 sea lions ?

        You only need one running at a time m8 even though it's a twin tuner.

          Any ideas why it will only let me record one channel at a time?

            CCcam works fine ?, just use that instead if mgcam is giving you problems.

              For me mgcamd 1.35 just doesn't work properly, I'm using ViX 2.4.

              The problems I've have had are mgcamd just randomly stopping, it doesn't auto-start with the box or when enigma2 is restarted and I'd get random black screens.

              Been using CCcam 2.2.1 since as I've not had the time to investigate.

                I have the same set up, i been told that mgcamd is more stable so i thought i would try it but i'll probably carry on using cccam, if its not broke why fix it, i am curious to why it doesnt allow me to watch and record.

                    I've taken the same mgcamd cfg file that I used on my dm800se which works with no problems but on the duo I get the problems that I posted above.

                    Can somebody who is using mgcamd post their cfg file so that I can compare?

                      Hi, i had this problem also using MGcamd on vu duo

                      you just need to edit the mg_cfg file

                      # box type
                      # 00 autodetect, change only if you think wrong type detected.
                      # 01 dbox2
                      # 02 dreambox
                      # 03 triple-dragon
                      # 04 relook
                      # 05 openbox
                      # 06 dreambox/mips
                      # 08 stapi/kathrein
                      # 09 stapi/ipbox
                      # 11 stapi/openbox
                      B: { 06 }

                      the last bit B: { 06 } change it to this and should be fine then

                        Ok, I sorted out the problems with mgcamd running on my box.

                        Had to change B: to { 06 } as pointed out above but also had to change L: to { 00 }

                        Then within softcam manager I stopped all cams and disabled the auto-start of all cams, then did a reboot. After the reboot went back into softcam manager and then selected mgcamd to auto-start and then did another reboot. After this reboot the box automatically started mgcamd, I then tested a restart of enigma2 and mgcamd also auto started mgcamd.

                        Found the above on another forum and thought I'd give it a go and it worked for me.

                              Do the two channels being recorded/viewed have to be on same transponder? I asked some where else and they reckoned they did, but I don't understand why if watching off one lnb and recording off another?
