Vu+ driver updates safe for clones?

    Hi all.
I see there are some driver updates for the Vu+ duo, are they clone safe or compatible.
Also where do i stick the updates if they are clone safe?
    Thanks all.

i too, would like to know this.

    drivers go in lib/modules/3.1.1/extra
make a backup of your old drivers first.

When new drivers comes out, take tar.gz drivers file and unzip all files in
    /lib/modules/3.1.1/extra
    and replace old drivers.
    Than reboot the box.

i'm awaiting clarification that it will work.

RD where are you. (no, forget that. he doesn't like clones).

    digicon where are you.

seeing that clone vu boxes run genuine vu images
i would think you can use genuine addons etc:
but i now dont have a clone box to test on.

i would think when you load a new genuine image it will
have the drivers etc updated in the image. and as genuine
images load on clones, the update does work thats what i based
my first answer on but as i said i dont have a box to test with

forget @digicon as he,s probably pissed up , only joking m8, AFAIK once a vu clone has had the IC security update you should be able to use any image, drivers ect. regards mdt

well I tried to load the driver updates as described above, but when I rebooted the reciever just got stuck on starting.
I just flashed my backup and all was ok again.
Any idea why it got stuck on starting?

I cant help much as i dont own a clone Duo anymore, but as the last IC update was for the Kernel 3.1.1 images and this was patched then my own personal opinion would be to wait for ferrari forums to say they are safe to use as all the images currently available use the old drivers from February. So as far as i am aware no images currently use the latest drivers.

URL removed so as not to offend and breach forum rules.

The drivers have been in the image for a fortnight and working, weather they work on clones or not who's to know ?.

Stick with Vix2.4-151 or 156 for the time being, any later and the clone will be stuck on Starting....

My experience with a Duo clone bought from A****y Sat in April this year.

Have latest VIX and VTI images with updated drivers working with no issues in Meoboot on Blackhole 1.7.5 in the flash.

Images with new drivers/updates are causing the Vu Duo clone to get stuck at 'Starting' for many users.

Blackhole 1.7.6 will boot fine inside meoboot but is not fully functional and requests to be installed in flash.

Just want to confirm that my Duo Clone (with label" v2" on the back) was also frozen on Starting:
                          1) The first time because I had flashed with Black Hole 1.7.6
                          2) The second time I had used the general system update function in the VTI 1.4.1 image.
To get rid of the situation I have simply flashed the duo_cfe_3.0.usb boot and afterwards the not updated VTI 1.4.0 or the B.H. 1.7.5 image.
I had then installed the Black Hole 1.7.6 image under Meoboot and confirm that you get the popup error message saying "image needs to have 1.7.6 in flash" when trying to change CAM <with blue button.
It works quite well with BH 1.7.5 or VTI 1.4.1 version without system update.
I tried to find out using "a step by step update" on the VTI 1.4.1 image, to find out which element is causing the trouble, but that finally took too much time. There probably is a new "timebomb" or a new driver which cannot be applied or the box does not have enough memory?

The latest images don't work on clones, they result in the box getting stuck with Starting... on the display.

They do work but you must run them through meoboot - which means you will need Blackhole 1.7.5 or lower installed in flash.
