Vu+ Duo Clone - problem, keeps getting stuck on 'starting' also getting green screen

when i checked it was not lighting up the led,s to say lan cable was connected to me it looks like a faulty main board as i tried psu, change and no difference

curious did they have the water damage as the previous ones on photos showed?

mine flashes yellow on left side and orange on right. vu utility i get 3 quarters then it freezes. so i guess that rules out ethernet port.

how much do you think its worth?

I would not like to put a price on it as some individuals will value it differently, It can be flashed but it will take time and perseverance i know mdt spent roughly around 5 hours on his getting it to take the .nfi image with just the null modem lead connected and nothing else.

hi, how can that be done? vu utility first has to connect ip address, unless he used a different program.

i cant see why i cannot install nfi image without connecting to internet. would me router firewall block the connection? guessing, i get 3/4 then stops,

to me flashing by null modem cable and a program on pc to download is like flashing the old cable box as they did not have the lan ,old pc with rs232 port needed and xp,forget a lan update as that wont work.

i got old pc with which is dual booted with ubuntu and windows. how do install nfi without internet

dont know or use it but it maybe a rar file you download to pc from internet,extract to pc.
For nfi you need to connect the decoder to your pc using a null modem cable via the com port on your pc
Then you need some software called Vu+Util,

maybe thats a pc based program?

reading the dummies guide for flashing,do you not need 2 folders on usb stick,or is that just the solo?

He used the VUutil program and just blagged the ip address and just kept trying to flash the box until it accepted it and flashed, Like i say it did take a few hours but he managed it.

Hello just wondering if you sorted your problem with the box I was having a similar problem and felt like smashing it with a hammer it would only boot to a black screen and say "starting" on the display panel changed USB stick, unpluged hdd and downloaded from where the sticker on top of box says and it's up and running again Must of been some thing to do with the USB as I tried the same image from the same source with a cheap 8gb and it wouldn't boot tried it with a 2gb Kingston and its working fine

I am afraid that you cannot flash an .nfi image to the duo by ethernet alone you have to have the RS232 connected as well, I know that mdt has flashed his clone solo just by having the RS232 port connected and nothing else although he explained it did take a few attempts to get it flash.

i have enclosed the vu guide for flashing via RS232 and ethernet, also you could find the Duo IP via your router login.
