There is a very good argument for using laptop drives and it involves the word Heat, on the other hand you never see laptop drives in Sky+,Sky+HD, Humax Freesat+ etc... and thats because 2.5" drives often cost twice the price of its bigger brother.

Saying that i have an Old Sky HD drive in my Uno and seeing as they are the 5400rpm generate little heat compared to faster drives.

So if you can afford a 2.5" go ahead use it but you will get the same performance and less heat from a 5400rpm drive and save a packet in the process

Hi again, it goes from worse to worser! The bricked box cant be unbricked. Left it down to the local computer repair shop to be Flashed, Booted etc and couldnt be done! Is there anyone who can do it... Anyone near BT35, N. Ireland,

How's it going? The channels thing I have sorted, have the listings downloaded; what's beating me is ubricking the bricked box, you got a vu duo clone?

yea i have, my problem is that it wont scan channels on 28.2e on both tuner a and b . . . i have mine from tuesday. . . its a pain in the arse, ive got all my channels uploaded and the epg working but just no picture . . . ive heard that they can be unbricked what version is urs is it v2.0? have u tied to reflash?

have you set up tuner config on box?

When you scan for channels there really is no need when you can just upload a pre-made config from any available

I have up loaded sgtflipflops and for some reason I'm still only seeing the vix loading image in the background, I have tried black hole with pre configured lists and again the same thing no picture! I was considering having a fidle with dish but I have no issue on my openbox!

you said sgtflipflops and that is a single not multi one,i presume you have cams loaded and network setup and the other thing we cant talk about loaded.

I have sgtflipflops enigma 2 loaded not sure what u mean by single or multi, enigma CCcam2.2 loaded network is fully connected and yes to that last bit it still shows the image loading screen in background and if I select s channel the screen stays on that loading image ANC then says tune failed

single is single setting for 1 sat ,multi is usually 4 different sats
as if it says hotbird and not astra think it goes by another name,read the info on the bottom bar when you change channel,you have 2 sat feeds in from sky dish?

ok so in the info bar is says BSKYB DVB-S2 EUROBIRD/ASTRA 10847 MHz V 23000 QPSK 8/9. . . Does that look correct

Both A&B tuners set to 28E ?

I assume you have set each to Simple, Single and 28E?

Try switching one of the tuners to 'not configured' and leaving the other set to 28E.....
