Chinese VU+ Duo

Started a thread about which box to buy last night in a different section of the forum. Was swayed more toward the Solo2 but having looked into it even more now it looks as though it's going to be the best part of ?500 to get up and running with what I want which is too much over my budget of ?300.

My question to you guys is this; what is the difference between a VU+ Duo and a Chinese VU+ Duo, the Chinese version is ?100 cheaper which is very appealing to me at the moment.

quite simple. the chinese clone vu is made using inferior parts

if your going the clone route have a look at the dvb/sunray 800 se/dvb 500hd both are good boxes, guys/gals here will be able to tell you who to source of in prc

The duo clone is a good enough box for the money if you are looking a twintuner and with the latest software release the v3 boxs can now use all images the genuine box uses

i have had quiet a few and only had a few with psu faults which can be common on the older clones but seems to be not so many from the v3 was released and for 137 quid its half the price of genuine or 165 buying one unit still good enough value and psu's is only 20 quid

Hmmmm this has put me right off it, I don't want to get something that is going to restrict me by not being able to upload the latest images.

Really struggling with this receiver malarkey, can't seem to put my finger on exactly what I want without it costing me the earth.

you can get the sunray 800se /dvb 500hd with a A8P sim card where you can put original images on the box i think nextbay is shipping them with this sim in it

ifyou really must have a twin tuner have a look at the tm 2t oe ?209 just bought one and very pleased with it

check out some of the German online sat shops m8 im sure you will find them under 260 inc shipping most uk sat stores are 279-289 are they not

i just stick to clone vu boxs as i find the 2 boxs for price of one genuine hard to beat

To be honest, all I want is something that is twin tuner, easy to record on and also has a 7 day epg. It doesn't need to be all singing all dancing.

well i still think a clone duo at 165 inc shipping from nextbay would be fine if its just for watching tv but if your looking a toy to play with and change images like some do every other week you need something else

Is it easy enough to get a 7 day epg on the Duo or does it come with one already?

The epg has to be setup along with image its only a plugin to download like cooltv guide / cross epg takes a few mins to set up

i would suggest to start reading the posts on clone duo and the psu going down cause of problems,someone also said they are a fire risk,do you want to take a chance?buy cheap and you could end up paying twice.
