Im a clone hater, avoid it like the plague m8, old saying if it's to good to be true, then it probably is !!
Buy a genuine Vu+ Duo, sure you will get one for ?275 if you do a search of the www.

One certain online retailer is doing the Duo for ?259 + ?7.00 postage so ?266, although many european suppliers will be way cheaper. Although spending that you may as well get the latest Solo2 and have done with it LOL

Don't waste your money mate, just save up the extra & buy a genuine box. Not worth the hassle.

To add some perspective and to help with you with making a very simple but informed choice.....

I have both, legit at double the cost and then also a china bpx via nextbay at nearly but not quite half the price.

Both do the exact same job, it ireally is as simple as that. I would go as far as saying that my cheaper/clone i.e the one I play with in the back room on a motor etc has performed really, really well! The legit duo is front room, never gets tampered with really as it is the main source of viewing with my local in it for the whole family.

The other however, has had non stop image changes, plugins on and off, picons etc messed with daily. It has not failed yet and I Personally! do not see why it suddenly will?

It works just fine, the image comments about last year are not accurrate IMO. I'm now running Vix
openvix-3.0.449_2012.12.11_FEdition and when I'm bored with this, I will try OpenViX 3.0.558.
Prior to this I was running another Vix 3.0 image and it was great, in fact it is my backup image as it was fab. The one I would say you try and start with is Vix 3.0.205 for clones.
Google this and also "china vu duo forum". Hurts to send users to another forum, but the specialise in the clone to an extent and support it really well. Just don't be shy in mentioning here
What you will get is plenty of posts saying that a clone is only good for image xxxx. I'm not technical enough to comment or guide you as such, but I have gone well and truly beyond the common or recommened VIX 2.4.155. Just a little bit of time and research will see with nearly just as many options to that of offical Duo receivers.

Save your money and get what you can afford! In all honesty from personal experience, they are all horriblt over priced, when you are picking up 50" TV's for ?400 odd quid !

The newer images that work just great, I beleive have older drivers on them to keep functionality? So you may not get the newest LNB setting or driver, but you get everythign else that is user orientated!

Entirely your choice, but do not be put off the cheaper option.
Having had a legit good old DB500s and also a clone there, same story, both worked. In fact the legit old 500 died before the clone

Just backup, backup and then backup to be sure!

what is the latest vix/BH image the v2 duo clone can have? and what about solo clone - which is the latest vix/BH image it can have on?

I purchased 2 x Duo clones last month from china they arrived within a week and one had a faulty PSU and the LCD display was not straight. The other had a faulty LCD display! I contacted the seller and he asked me to swap power boards and LCD to get one working. Then they send me the new parts express DHL. I was lucky because I purchased through AliExpress and you money is not released to the seller until you happy with the goods.

Everything is setup working great. Its the latest V3 clone but comes with a white remote control which is fine. My friend is happy with his and mine works fine but you limited to what image you can install as the latest images are not compatible.

If I had know this earlier I would of purchased an original box.

I will keep mine until the Duo 2 is released them upgrade ;-)

One bonus is the seller sent me 2 x LCD displays and 2 x power boards!

If it is a V3 then apply the update and you should be able to use the newer images

did you actually have to pay duty or did they mark it with low value?

Usually they're quote good at doing that for buyers. Only negative - apart from cheating the taxman is if it does get damaged in the post due to handling fault the shipping company will only recompense upto the value item was marked on customs form.

i'm having a debate with myself whether I should purchase a 350USD 1260x1440 high resolution monitor from S.Korea and that is one of the decision I will need to make - whether to get them to mark the value down to clear customs-duty.
