sorted it. When it asked to press the power button I was using the remote power button... derrr.

realised that it had to be the actual box power button. hey presto zeus 003 image installed.

Afraid thats not quite correct anymore as if the Solo2 is a Mark 1 version you just need to do the FPGA update via RS232 and this allows any unmodified image to be used in effect making it a Clone Solo2 Mark 2

best call me one mate. upgraded to zeus 003 which was downloaded from WOS. No issues at the moment unless they take time to take effect.

follow digicons advice or lincsats,as the saying goes buy cheap pay twice might come sooner,one reason when you buy an original you can use original image. put it this way do you want to risk it?

The solo2 boxes if they have been upgraded to what's called v2 can accept all current images untouched. That's not to say that there won't be a driver update in the future that stops this but right now there's no need for any clone safe images.

solo2 and I believe it is version 2(when I fitted the hdd it had a small blue x sticker on the cpu).

the hard drive was the following:
MOMENTUS THIN 500GB 2.5 | Ebuyer.com

just be careful when fitting as I found a couple of the caddy screws rounded off and did not want to come out.

also as mentioned earlier in the thread the remote control is a bit annoying.

anyone updated a solo2 clone using the latest zeus 022 image via online update?

also for information, purchased a proper vu+ remote and it works a treat on the clone box. popped batteries in and it worked without any programming.

not sure if 022 is clone safe mate. I know that 003 and 005 are because I got great info from lincsat earlier in this thread

Out of interest where did you get the remote and how much was it, also do you have to ask L&W to declare a lower customs value or is that done anyway?

Just for info placed an order with L&W on 8/4 looked on tracking and its cleared processing at Heathrow already 10/04 amazing whilst going through the order process im sure im I saw a quote saying they would lower the customs value

remote was from world of sat ?19.99 plus postage. customs value I believe is done automatically and yes you can watch one channel whilst recording another.
