You will also find that you would have to do the exact same if you where to purchase an original from any of the Popular UK Online retailers including one that gets enough mentions already. Cost wise as long as you package carefully and keep weight down it will probably be reasonable

This is how it's done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7xZYni8SMg you all are going to be electronics engineers .... I remember when I was lifting chips for TSOP reprogramming back in the days with hot gun and solder them back in with hotgun only... not so difficult with the help of some good quality flux pen. So don't panic guys... there would be some repair service somewhere soon.

Not sure that's true although I realise that some retailers do state we're responsible for returning faulty goods. I found this from which.co.uk.

Obviously this only applies to UK retailers and only where it's faulty.

If said company has it written into there terms and conditions that the Buyer pays return postage for a faulty item then there is not a lot you can do about it, and all of the Online retailers have this written in to there T&C's

If its within the first 7 days then your covered, Only the very large companys like John Lewis etc.. will never charge for collection but most of these online sat retailers do it from there own home.

China is a different kettle of fish and you dont stand a hope in hell's chance of getting a refund on postage unless the vendor agrees this beforehand but then again there is no EU law to protect anyone either if anything goes wrong.

Thats why when you buy a Clone you take a Gamble on whether it works or not or how long it lasts as you have Zero warranty

I read it differently and I quote from the letter they used as an example:-

Any returns policy that says I have to cover the cost of returning items must only relate to the situation where I change my mind about the item ordered and not where there is a problem with the item.

My supplier "E-Best" on Aliexpress have now pulled the sale of solo2.

Also this is from Aliexpress`s web page.....

                    "
                    Guaranteed Genuine
                    3x Money Back

If your purchase is found to be counterfeit, you can get up to two times the total amount you paid for it (shipping costs excluded)"

So if we act dumb, and make a claim, stating we thought this was an original box, what do you think would be the out come ?

And Technically this is damage and not a fault, so may not be covered by warranty anyway.

Blimey for a split second i read that as "For this the PRC are ENDING SOME ONE". I though some poor bugger facing the firing squad for this cock up.

not that you could really count on warranty support for a illegal counterfeit item, Would love to see some of those gobshites on DW try taking up a claim for damage to their illegal counterfeit electrical item.

No is not fixing anything but showing how easy it is to remove and solder one in. It would be nice to have a 1gb NAND flash in... That would wind up VU+ right up

L&W are still selling it. I found the following listing, "vu solo2 original Linux system decoder 1300 MHz CPU 2 dvb-s2 tuner vu solo 2 hd satellite receiver free shipping"

That implies it's genuine and we all know companies wouldn't lie to try and sell something would they
