Im a n00b at this and recently i purchased a solo2 clone with BH 2.0.9 image on it. It worked well for 10 days then decided it will not turn on anymore. Fiddled and googled to my hearts content but no solution. There is a thread on another forum suggesting its a known problem with solo2 clones with them going dead due to the flash getting erased.
So my questions.
1. why would the flash chip get erased on its own?
2. supplier is sending me a new flash chip which i will solder on, once done how do i prevent the flash erasing randomly again???
3. what is the known cause of the issues with the clones? and best way to prevent any issues occurring?
4. Whats the best image to use? or is the factory BH one good enough?
5. Whats the best cccam to use?
6. Should you avoid downloading apps or addons?Comment

The Nandflash got erased probably due to the fact that Vu wrote a Timebomb in the Drivers from early january that wrote over commands to remove over 200 pages of code from the Nandflash and just to make doubly sure they also write protected the nandflash chi p after wiping it to make it totally useless.
And so now you know why you have to install a new nandflash chip, to be sure of this not happening again use images from Pre-December 2013 until a solution can be found
For No.5 read the Forum Rules: Discussions about cardsharing are not allowed, including, but not limited to, cccam, gbox, mbox, etc.

So basically the chinese using BH 2.0.9 are too ahead of themselves? what is the best older image to use? does the older image guarantee to not get the flash erased? does older images install on solo2 clones OK? and finally where to download the images and how to verify they are ok?

Its not the Image never has been and never will be it is the drivers that are contained inside the image that is the problem, if you want the box to be completely safe then do not use any imgae or drivers contained inside said image created after the 15/12/2013.
Personally i would go even further and use an image from before Nov 2013 and then do not do any type of update of anything just leave it as it is.
And now you know why Ferarri use so called patched images all they do is use very old drivers that they know work and contain nothing to damage the receiver

Solo2 drivers started to be not safe for Clones from the ones released the 12/12/2013. So you can use any driver for Solo2 that is older than 12/12/2013.
Hope this helps you guys,

It's not public.
I'm waiting for a new nand memory. I got willem programmer and socket. Do you have some tools to extract it?
I'm sure it wont be so easy other wise it could open the doors to a huge clone market (just like it happen to DM). This is my personal view and I could be wrong.Comment

just a thought mate.
are you pressing the power button on the remote? If you are then stop and try pressing the one on the box.
Yep I tried the remote button for about 30 mins before realising.

Dont worry, the button on clone Solo 2 is not very sensitive, it takes firm pressure across the full face of the button to get it to work. Try pressing it hard with the full front of your thumb, it will illuminate in a brighter colour once the correct prrssure has been applied. I had the same issue with my'n.
However if your clone has had it's bootloader erased by the clone bomb drivers you wont be able to reflash a new image anyway until you swap the flash IC.Comment
