The replacement chips being sent out to replace the original Samsung ones used on Lorisun boxes are manufactured by Toshiba.

Just check with your supplier that it has vu solo2 data on it and it is ready to flash an image from usb onto it. Some have bought chips which are completely blank and these have been unable to take a flashed image.

Hope your soldering skills are up to it

i will order a chip i think , im not guna even attempt soldering to heavy handed for that as it would end up out the window i just guna ask in a few little pc shops n see what they think

right ive got chips so after for box so when i get new one soldered and all goes well what do i have to flash the chip with before main image ? is it the fpga update or bootloader ?

If you have the new Nandflash Chip and got these from your original seller of the receiver then they should already be pre-programmed with an image, From reading around a few users who changed there's have reported it has a patched version of Blackhole 2.0.9.1 on the new chip

nand chip replaced by a proffesional looks very clean job but still wont boot used 3 usb sticks and nothing they told me chips are good to flash straight to no image on chip digi so probally older ones < but they told me they are good so nearly went out window last night pmsl learnt never buy a box of crap from china rant over loooooool

Could be missing the bootloader which is needed to get the Image on the Flash in the first place you could try this and see if it helps thanks to aliraza63 at DW:

1. remove all cables from stb just plug power cable
2. update this file pics are with file for ur help
3. its modified file u must use it as its said in pics
4. restart box
5. use new image and factory default must one time

no rs 232 port only usb to serial but in device manager in usb prolific to serial comm port in propertise then advance setting changed it to com 1 that dont work so does pc have to have the proper rs 232 port on it to work it does on me dreambox but not this vu tools updater or me power supplie is on its way out even before tring this there is no power to fan or hdd or is these thing only work with a running image ?

I would suggest Using a PC/laptop with an RS232 connection and not try one of the USB to serial leads

I've also received my chip and replaced it, thankfully my box is back up and working now. Flashed ViX 3.0-808 onto the box straight away.

As reported some people who did the chip swap failed to get their box working and it was suspected that they may have blank chips with no bootloader.

Can you post some close up in focus pictures of both sides of the legs on the chip, you never know we might be able to spot something?

a lot of people were getting the same problems with the mini vu+duo clone red light on display these boxes were also killed with the timebomb if you use the ferrari patched images on the mini solo2 clone and the same images on the mini duo clone you will not have any problems with the boxes getting killed i have been running my mini vu+duo for 6 weeks now with bh 2.0.9 image from ferrari and it has been running perfectly i never update drivers on any of my boxes and have never had a problem
