ex500 NO SIGNAL...HELP!!!

I have had ex500 working for about 6 months and suddenly i have lost all channels and when i attempt to do a fast install, no transponders are found....

Could you tell me if I were to purchase a Eurovox ex500 pvr would I be able to use a two way splitter on my cable modem and connect the box up that way...

I have downloaded the firmware onto my pc, cabled to the box, but when i try and download to the box, i get the download box on my pc, press " download"...
