Dreambox on standby cant open

hello

i brought dreambox 500+ yesterday and flashed it but when i connect it with my tv it comes dreambox logo and nothing happens the light...

My friend has a slyHD Thompson box, hes a subscriber and its stuck on standby.

Tried a software update (to no avail), checked all the cables...

thinking of buying a ps3 of ebay it says it powers up then goes str8 to standby isnt sold with hard drive cause this be the case why it goes to standby...
