I might very soon inherit of a 98 Golf GTI 1.8T, however it has a 06A906018R ECU instead of the more common 06A906018CG.

Is there a stage 1 available for this 06A906018R ECU ?
I can find two software version: 358109 and 359591, are they compatible ? The files avec very different…

Follow-up, replying to myself.

So after a few days of digging, I found a stage 1 for a 06A906018CG on this forum and by comparing with the original file I was able to list all maps modifications.
I then found the matching tables in the original files for 06A906018R 358109 and 359591 and made the same modification. Then using WinOLS 2.24 I corrected the checksum.

As soon as I get the car I will report back. Anyone willing to try is welcome to report back too.

The question remains as to what the difference between 06A906018R 358109 and 359591 is ?

Edit : Stage 1 files have 150hp in the name but it’s probably more like 190hp/300Nm…

Hey, i record twice and read twice after recording there is some CHANGES in the file if i read it after writing it!
Is it normal?
REPHRASE, after writing your file i read it from ECU and the file in ECU is different, is it OK for it to be a little different?

Write file to ECU as said above but THROTTLE BODY still moves when vehicle is warm but NOT hot, so after driving 5 minutes throttle body still closes but after driving 10 minutes i cannot see it moving anymore!
