How to JTAG a DM500

Im sorry im a newby inhere with the a dead db 500s and something is not very clear to me
is it neededto put some power on the jtag cable that 3.3v or just place the cables on the right spots on the db
any help

assuming you have a simple jtag cable (5 resistor one) you just need to place the jtag cable on the right spots on the dm500 board.

I had my clone 500s jtaged, and now when connecting to dreamup, it recognised it as 56xx. it is not possible to jtaged again (ERROR: register test failed). any suggestions?

sounds like u flashed wrong bootloader but unsure how u managed that
does any image flash over now? maybe flash gemini back on to corrupt bootloader again pmsl

I'll try that, but when I jtaged it, din't change the MAC adress? how will gemini finds out it is a clone? any other suggestions?

I got the same prob but imnot sure if mine is a clone or not.... The philips tuner is not a sticker, its an official imprint on the metal surface of the tuner. But on the back of he box it has the moditied spelling mistake
I think its an old 500c clone

me i had 4.4 my dreambox is dead, i have to jtag my dreabox?
