Well all important inputs are covered. (tdi,tck,tms,tdo)

Don't know if it can connect to DB? Maybe it needs a special connection handshake or something. I have no idea.

Edit: The MarsBlaster only takes "max2 cpld" .SVF files, which means it doesnt work? Or can i convert a DB .bin to .svf somehow? It's just binary data isnt it?

Also needed pin4 - Trst and Pin11 - Halt.

May work but hv never find our the corresponding connections of miso, mosi, rst clk with trst, tck, tms, tdi tdo , halt. Some expert did able to flash without hving to connect trst, I was never sucessful with that.
My made-do atmega progger, "usbjtagnt" is able to flash bl, but parallel port progger encounter problems in connectivity.
Pls share your experience with us if u get yr Atmega progger whether parallel port or USBport to flash BL.

Master DBT, you may just start another question session with many noobies dont hv comport or parallel port!!! hahaha...... Also after jtag still hv to load image to box.

Another solution is just change the Flash28F640. (Preferred Intel js28F640j3d75 which is more stable).

Jtag will load the BootLoader if your box is bricked. But if you hv a flash progger and hv saved a dump of the chip, then it not worth the hassle fiddleing the pin location.
However, jtag you dont hv to do any soldering or hot-blower to the box.

Unfortunately, unlike earlier batch of dreamboxes, in most recent years' batches, the JTAG DIP pins are not soldered on board, some crude soldering are still required.

No need soldering, if hv lead pins, just use socket from 10 to 20pins. If without leads, just put in 0.8mm pogo-pins for various STBs configurations. This way save lots of tome for many models and CPU configurations.
This is good for many same model which need jtag upgrading. Push & load, push & load........

Windows version in the jkey.def you must hv the JS28F640 and also the CPU IBM chipset defination loaded. I too never suceed in the windows version or by chance I may be able to load the BL in a blue moon. I since gave up that and used the USBjtagNT. It cud be the 232 chip not compatible or my entry of the definition is wrong.
Also a some of a givio-port sys file needed which always make my other //port program like PonyProg goes bad. In Atmega progging, my fuses always load wrongly with that givio sys file.
