How to JTAG a DM500

I have been trying to Jtag my Dm500 for over a week now and only got lucky once connecting to the box. Unfortunately I got the wrong Blimg and now the box type is Dm56xx. Since then I have tried to get it connected again, wither through Jtag-windows or the batch files in dos command. None has worked yet. Tried all the guides about connecting the power and the connect button on the pc, but none has helped me yet. The cable is less than 10 cm, but I am thinking about making a new one.

Anyone else has some great ideas for me?

I also tried servial ways read all sorts of forums ect..I got mine right
Just remember this if the green light is on it is not nessesary to Jtag your box.
just get a null modem rs323 cable and a dreamup program.
connect rs323 cable but dont insert the DM power cord jet.
open Dreamup and click on connect now insert power cord.
there is forums how to make a null modem cable.

Thanks for your reply, but I am not so fortunate that the light is on
I do need to Jtag my box and especially after I got the wrong boot on the box. Now the box type is DM56xx...not good

Hope someone can help me out getting a connection with my jtag cable.

guys i have a problem.

i flash bootloader with jtagdm500 it says it's ok.
Then i power it off/on green light is on but dreamup cannot detect it to flash the image.
Can someone help please?

You got the right cable?

Or try choosing another com port when using dreamup.

Make sure use network is unticked.

i connect my second box and dreamup is working so it's not the null cable or dreamup problem.

can i flash the image through jtag?

No. Must be a problem with the com port.

okey it works but now i have conected but now is mij dm500 clone dead now power licht wil burn i can jtag it to all bootloaders but nothing wil work please help

If you have Jtagged a new bootloader you now still need to load a new image with null modem cable /com port and dreamup software.

Try different versions of dreamup and make sure your PC is using the same com port as dreamup, also make sure you are using a 'null modem cable' (crossed wires inside 2to3, 3to2, 5 to 5) , not serial cable.
Also is it 'dead no power light' or 'dead now power light will burn'
You need a green light for dreamup to work, if no light maybe power supply?

oke it works i flasht the origional img to the box but now i hav a network problem on dhcp i dont get a ip en static the same the led on the modem is not burning but in the dreambox burs 2 green leds en the third wil flash a second end is then dead pleas help me

You managed to flash it, what was the problem then ????
