If you have green light in your your box, you don't need to jtag it.
Your box is only blocked. You can solve this issue with a nullmodem cable and DreamUp. If one version doesn't recognize your box, try with another. Sometimes some versions works and others doesn't with a dreambox.Comment

No, M4rcel
Not getting at you m8, been helping you all along , its others repeating old stuff whats been said.
Your dm is starting ok now but you are unable to connect it could be as you say mac address not suitable in bootloader. Try this mac generator which makes a boot file for you to jtag. You can put your own mac address into it first.

Hi
Have a read of this, just found it elswhere. I presume yours is a clone, if you get it working stay away from Gemini.
QuickTip - Check the serial number on the packaging with the serial number on the label underneath the receiver. The serial numbers used by clones rarely match any of the packaging.
Another common problem with clones is the Network Chip MAC address printed on the packaging label does not match the MAC on the label of the receiver or the address on the network chip. This can be confirmed simply by starting a telnet session via lan with the DM500 (user:root) (pw:dreambox) and entering the command "ifconfig". The real MAC address for the ethernet chip will be displayed for you to confirm against the packaging.

@ M4rcel-H
All I can suggest is that you try different mac address. Are you sure you are jtagging the correct bootloader, Philips,Alps for Cable or Philips Alps for Satellite?
A way of checking for correct bootloader is to see if the DM500 will scan for correct channels, ie Sat or Cable.

Hi
Well done tahvall, you shouldn't have to to leave it connected unless you are a Gemini only man.
Just a little help to some others who are still struggling would be appreciated, which box 500c or 500s which tuner Alps/Philips or Nxp and which software did you use?

I used the jtagdm500 software with the ALPS tuner.
there was already an alps tuner badge file in there, with the cmdline:
jtagdm500 -m dm500 -e 00:09:34:AB:CD:02 -c
I used that line with a different mac address.
So, step by step:
1. soldered the jtag onto my motherboard, based on some pictures elsewhere in this topic.
2. ran the jtagdm500 program in windows xp (had to borrow someones machine, cause I didnt have xp only linux and vista :/)
3. created a null modem cable (didnt want to pay money for it)
4. started the dreamup software from dream multimedia and loaded the nabilo dm500-v8-maxvar image.
5. hook it up to your sattelite dish and watch tv

I'm not a gemini only man, I'm using nabilo now, but I am still not really sold on it.
My network connection with the nabilo server stopped working suddenly after a couple of days.
Although my internet connection is active. (I can ping Google from my telnet session to the box).
Will try PLI perhaps, or the gemini 4.50 image (I read that they removed the timebomb).Comment
