Here is the list of dm800hd preconfigured image for SG use. Picons included and channels updated on 28122012 following sh numbering. Added SGSH online bouquet updater plugin created by uu161. Just ftp yr keys & scce files and restart softcam and u are ready to go.

i ftp my keys into this image SG-Newnigma V3.3.2-dm800-SSL-84b and then quite a number of channels black screen..some can...hd channels also cannot...keys issue or image issue?Comment

even you dont upgrade, your original image will still be jerky if you have a weak signal
So its not an image issueComment

i've just flashed my unit to Cnigma-OpenPli 2.1-dm800se-ssl84b.nfi but the original flash did not have scce. I ftped the keys over, but the keys don't seemed to be correct.

I'd like to ask sifus some questions to fix up some holes in my understanding:
"softcam" is a generic term to denote all the softcams around, right? Softcams likes oscam, cccam, mgcamd, etc.. Correct?
does the various SG images contain any softcams?
The 1 set of keys/scce for SG, is it used by softcams or another software component? If so, what is it?
If used by softcams, since there's only 1 set of keys/scce for SG, it means all these softcams use the same format & filename of keys/scce, correct?Comment

any links for dm800hd se image?
saw many post regarding bootloader, softcam etc.
questions:
1-how to check what version of bootloader do we have.
2-we need to match it with the image used
3-how to restart the softcam after copying the keys over
i have just bought it and i know nuts abt it and need help from expert here to do my first flashing

1 - during startup you should see the bootloader ver number in the box LCD screen.
2 - yes or else you get a error msg, i suggest you to upgrade to 84b, now all latest images is based on this bootloader.
3- there should be a button in the cam manager to restart the cam but the easiest way is to reboot.Comment

Like u post, image is like OS.
Softcam is like Driver for specific function.
cccam I assume it 2b office word, u type it out and can view yr letter (see picture in DB). CCcam is universal driver for Nagra stb boxes, u just put in keys ( like yr words in a letter) and the box worked but will not AU keys.
Mgcamd is like another driver ( b it the printer driver where u print the word prepared letter ready to post) simulating a Nagra Rom11, or other system of encryption like NDS, secca etc... to decrypt the keys within the box so dont hv to input keys each time it rolls.
There r other softcam used for diff purposes but may names differently like DVBsnoop, Newcs, .....
Depending on encryption method, different enc dfferent softcam. depending of various functions required, they oso demand different "specific" softcam but names may b confusing. I layman take them as 'drivers' needed for various function like in a computer.
In Sg, we r lucky Big Bro dont hv much change so a working softcam with various versions of mgcamd working bcos the basic driver source code had never changed since Nagra1 was introduced Big Bro. All were like static since day1 of Digital broadcasting. so only 1 set of file.
