hi,

i think i screwed up my china dreambox DM800HD
i added a hard disk to try recording, initially it worked fine
after a few days when i switch on the DM800HD, it always say harddisk is sleeping..need to power off and on a few times to get it right

got fed up and check out the software update via the remote
after updating, it crashes, show the green screen and then can no longer be boot up

search online for help, came to this forum, and saw this thread
straightaway flash one of the images provided by ypvs125

great! it can boot up!

then i realize all paid channels cannot be viewed
then i read somemore and realized i am supposed to backup the keys


ermmm...are these keys unique and cannot be used by more than 1 dreambox? how can i get or buy a new set of keys?

U did not mention yr box type? Image will be different on the box model.

Hi any gurus able to guide me on how to resolve issue on playing .mkv files on dm800hdse or any image which does so?
Im on newnigma2 image.
Able to play video but no audio.

Go to menu, Ts panel, backup. Simple as that.

Tried many times...doesn't work.
Mine don't have HDD.
Tried to save into a local directory...cannot...
Plug in thumbdrive, but cannot detect external drive.

Do you format your thumbdrive to FAT32 system file? Try it again. It should work.

No luck...
Went to TSPanel -> Tool-1 -> Image FlashBackup
Chose Sim2 Dreambox (the other is Dream Multimediadreambox)
Went to set backup location
Saw 2 folders
/media/HDD
/media/Media

both I suspect are internal folders.

Start backup with either one also didn't work.
Backup failed.

ahh..ok..is there any way for me to retrive it now??i think i did not made any back up....
Or is there any way where i can get the magic keys from..

A lesson to be learnt...read and understand before u do anything....

Same lesson learnt. I also flashed my dm800hd without doing the back up and all the channels cannot be viewed! How do I retrieve those keys as well?

Hi, I got a used clone DM800hd pvr (sim 2.01 ssl84b). It had a loose simcard holder and ca no found error. Managed to clear the errors and flash to openpli sg edition 10032012 and update the picon/bouquets. However, I am missing the keys and scce files. I can only view fta channels..I need help..Thanks in advance.
