FY800HD

Dear All,

I am using DM802SE HD, i just updated with the 2 latest firmware for black and white FYHD ( both in .bin format ).
But after update, it ask me to insert card. can only watch FTA.
What should i do now? Anyone know where to get the original .bin for DM802SE HD?

or should i try the update for MVHD which is .abs format? ( Change it to .bin to update )

I have just found out that it is not necessary to upgrade firmware for our 1st gen FYHD as I have just help a friend to search for all new channels using old firmware.

that's great! i'm hoping it'll work for the fyhd800c-II.

Seems like i can't get the quality signal to be full when I followed your steps. It'll flicker and then...gone...just like my hopes

Just to let you all know FYHD800C and FYHD800Cii both are able to successfully scan all the EPL, Lifetime, etc channels using Symbol 6090. S/W versions 2011.02.27 and 2011.03.07 NEED NOT be updated. They'll work. If the Quality bar remains white, exit and try again till it turns to yellow, then press OK to scan. After you enter 6090, you may need to highlight the next item (QAM) before the bar will change color.

I thought it would be good to share here how I manage to get all the new channels here since I've got PM asking me on how I do it.
1) Make sure you have the latest FW ( file should be FY.AP), not those on pg 7 here.
2) select Menu/ Channel search / Manual search.
3) At Frequency(MHZ) select 128 / 136 / 149 (do one frequency at a time) and Symbol at 6090
4) Before you press ok to search,WAIT for the Quality bar below for signal strength first. If no signal shown, pressing ok will not get you any new channel. (It may take around 5-30 sec before you see the Quality bar showing signal and it may take a few try before you get it.)


Channel 101 to 106 will be shown and 107/108 will be shown as unknownChl
Remember all the new channels will be situated at the back and will not be in correct order. I just save them as FAV for easy access. Hope it helps.

Thanks! This worked for me. Only small problem is I haven't used this box in ages and can't seem to remember how to add a channel to the favorites list. Hahah. Either that or the function has failed to work on this box. How did you add?

Go to Program Edit and key in password (000000). Select the channel you want to add to FAV list. Press FAV button. You will see a kind of red ball marked. Go to next channel and so on. When finished, press EXIT.

I followed the steps. Upgrade software and scan again. All have. Simple enough and finally figured how to do it correctly.

Mine is FYHD white box (800-IV). Can cancel Mio Stadium once contract expire on Sep.

Got a few pm so thought I share in details.

Mine is the white one as I posted.
The fw is ************* as posted by senior here.

Make sure your .bin does not reflect vlc or any other program. If not it won't work. I trail and error for many hours that's why I know. Then load into thumb drive and plug in and upgrade.

Once done you are able to manual scan 135000 and 128000 or something like that which is also posted by Tammy. Once you manually scan the 3 given range, you can view all soccer. I had a good time watching chelski trash hull in my room last night.

If you really can't then bring it to me but I charge. Lol. Good luck.

Thanks! I managed to download the manuall and figured it out. Just scrolling the menu to find the channels to add to favorites was quite tedious man. But at least it works and can watch now.

Hi Tammy,
Manual scan freq 163 sym 6090, able to get CIN HD, BIO HD, etc.

But when I manual scan freq 156 or 157 sym 6090, unable to see any image. Scan able to pick up the channels H2, H2 HD, etc (total 7 channels) but all not showing anything. Noticed that freq stored is 163 sym 6090/256QAM, although I input freq at 156 and 157.

Any idea what went wrong?

Hi all, just to share what I have done.

I'm using a HDC-800-IV (white) set and did a FW upgrade. Only after the upgrade, I'm able to enter the 6 digit freq. The old FW only allows up to 3 digits.

What I have done:

Task 1:
1. After the upgrade, did the manual scan of freq 128500, 135500 and 149500. Symbols at 6090. QAM 256.
2. The 'desired' channels were found but all parked right at the end of the channel listings.
3. Showed a black screen and nothing can't be seen or heard.

Task 2:
1. Did a Auto scan with the default freq range but changed the symbol from the default 6875 to 6090.
2. 'Desired channels' appear around the 220ish channel range.
3. BUT, still no sound or image - black screen!

Can anyone advise on this?

Haix.. I have read in some posts that some using the same model as*Me got their set updated. Some didnt update but able to get the EPL channel. Trail and error for 3 days. Guess i shall just buy dreambox instead.

Hello everyone, I need help!! My box is FYHD-HDC-800e white box! When I tried upgrading the firmware provided by singapore dreambox website, it keeps stuck on boot and there's no image or channel on my TV screen. Can anyone advise?

why dont you first seek the firmware from your seller first. I am sure the seller will give you.
Instead you took the risk of flashing a image you are not sure...
