Dreambox 500 keeps flashing on startup screen and a black screen

Solution now is to find yourself a computer that has a com port to do the flashing else u got to trust yr own judgement into buying the aten usb adapter.

I have bought the aten usb adapter, but still cannot flash. Dreamup now is stucked at connection prepared, now switch on your dreambox. Using the atake usb adapter allows me to go to the stage of dreambox status , upload completed, waiting for acknowledge. I used windows 7 pc and a windows xp laptop still cannot work. Where do i find a computer with com port, it is like so rare now.

Did u do the steps correctly? Did u uninstall previous atake driver and then install the aten driver to avoid conflict.

I did it on another pc though.with the same steps mentioned in one of the stickies here.

How about the other 2 set. Can u get it connected with the aten adapter? U can do a backup image in the meantime.

I have the backup image from my seller ardy. The 2 other sets i have passed to my friends who bought it ardy. I order one more set from the seller though. I have gave up trying to flash it myself cos it cannot seems to work.

Wish u the best then. Whatever it is, if u cannot do this flashing by yourself, then return to yr seller. Be reminded u need to bear the shipping cost and if buy local, i don't think the seller will help u everytime to do flashing if same things happen everytime. The failure rate of these box is high and chances it can happen again to the exchange box or the sets u bought for yr friend so no matter what, u got to do it yourself unless u don't mind spending money for their service which most of us don't want to.

I bought overseas, thus i'm not willing to ship back to seller to help me with the flashing and stuffs.

Lol... One day u will know that u need the stuffs and knowledge to revive ur box as it always happen. Always use the search function) another way get the dm800se or hd flashing by Web is easier

bro..did ur problem solve,cause i too got the same problem like urs,bought the null modem cable and aten usb but stuck on the connection prepared,on the dreambox..

What is wrong with yr box? Unable to boot up also?

hi bros... hurhur! i think my box is dead! black screen with LED green light constantly on. remote no response. last time i used to flash images using telnet. but now my router cant even detect the box when connected thru ethernet. is there any way other than using the null modem cable to save my box or is it time to upgrade to the 800hd hehehe? so sad.

btw im using 500c.

No choice! Dreamup and null cable is the only way.
