It needs to be unzipped first
Then do as Despdan says in his post


For people using Pli Image:

To add a Soft Cam manually:


FTP the appropriate files to your box and chmod the files


Create an empty file with the same name as the Soft Cam, for example "hypercam". Optionally, you can enter the version number of the softcam as text and save it




Upload this file to /var/etc/plimgr/cams/



PLi Manager will now detect the new Soft Cam "hypercam", if you entered a version number in your file it will be recognised as such

Choose the new Soft Cam in the Soft Cam Setup

Unzipped files to var/bin
Opened TuxBox Commander
Executed the file hypercam_1.06

Message came up Starting Hypercam..... and 2 other messages

waited a minute or 2 and keys updated

thanks despan got it to work,funny dow when go to your cams selection on the box have no cam running?also many channels such as mtvs and kids + some others are not clearing.but anyway finaly we got something to work thanks satman

What image you using?

try a rescan for missing channels they might have moved them around I believe there are a few HD channels now so they might have shifted a few.

Finally got me head around this, very straightforward really, but 1 thing I noticed......It would'nt allow me to "execute" the cam, I had to FTP it over a couple of times until it worked.

Using DCC for ftp, Hypercam FTP'd to Var/Bin, Right clicked files, changed attributes to 755 on hypercam.cfg and hypercam_1.06.
Left the "keys" attributes at 644.
Using DB500 remote, pressed blue, selected "tuxbox commander", navigated to "Var/Bin" scrolled down to "hypercam_1.06", pressed "ok" on remote, pressed left on remote to highlight "ok", pressed exit twice, pressed left again, pressed ok again, exit out to channels.............waited approx 2 mins, changed channel and bingo.................Happy camper !!

Now to try getting it working on a dbox2......Anyone got any ideas ??

Any body having trouble getting this working just download it via addons on your box.
Have tested hypercam1.01 & this is working if your image doesn't have the latest hypercam1.06

For the Pli image just manual copy the files to var/bin folder & chmod them to 755.
Then make a file called hypercam & put that in var/etc/plimgr/cams folder. Now you can start it in the softcams options

When it starts change the channel & leave for 2mins if it doesn't clear change channel again bingo

Also you might have to delete stuff if you var folder if it's nearly full.

Also delete keylist.txt & softcam.key in the var keys folder.
