Hypercam N2 Fix How To

Here is a guide to help get Hypercam N2 Ireland fix working on Dreambox & Automatically Starting

1: Delete all files in the keys & scce folders you won't need them & uninstall any cams you have loaded.

2: On your Image go to the download software add on menu on your box:
If you can't find that then you are very sad person (Pli-Jade don't look for it as it's not listed see bottom for howto)

3: Download whatever version is available at this stage it doesn't matter.
I have found that 1.01 will work If you want to use hypercam1.06 go to the var/bin folder & delete the hypercam file in there not hypercam.cfg now ftp the 1.06 file into that folder.(Remember to chmod the file if you do)

4: Now ftp the hypercam.key file into the var/bin folder.

5: When you have that done go to cam setup & set it as default cam.

6: Now put the box on RTE1 or what ever channel is normally clear.

7: Reboot box after 1min change channel & BINGO you might have to wait a couple of mins then change channel again


PLI-JADE

To add a Soft Cam manually:
FTP the appropriate files to your box and chmod 755 the files

Create an empty file with the same name as the Soft Cam, for example "hypercam".

Upload this file to /var/etc/plimgr/cams/

PLi Manager will now detect the new SoftCam "hypercam".

Choose the new Soft Cam in the SoftCam Setup

Then do steps 6 & 7

i am using hypercam in england. and i thought you had to link the roms from var/scce to var/keys/nagra to make hypercam work. so can i delete the link or is just for n2 fix that you don't need the roms. thanks

you only need the roms if your n1 ,,, and a proper uk hypercam.keys,
n2 you only can run on keys for now.

Do you happen to know of a version available for the 7025? Or an image that has it available to download from the menu?

I don't think so, you will have to wait till they release hypercam for Enigma2 images but they might not . You could get them off the 600 you have working maybe

Please Help

I followed the instructions to the letter but the channels are not coming in. I initialy put hypercam 1.06 and keys into the folder var/bin and went to emu manager and selected version 1.01 eventhough i had the latest 1.06. channels never cleared When that failed I just went back to the version 1.01 and loading keys on again. but I am having no joy. do i have to change attributes to any of the files.

Please help.

Did you chmod the hypercam file to 755?

thanks for quick reply changed the attributes to 755, and saw in another thread that you could execute in tuxbox commander, worked a treat. Back in business, thanks again Desperate dan,

I found that Hypercam in PLI did not autostart when the following was done.

exe hypercam_1.06
blank file for pli hypercam_1.06

Image said it was running (top of screen) but linux top did not show it running

Fix for me was to rename exe to just hypercam and blank file to same. Then reselect from Cam menu. Now it starts with the box

Does linux not like"_" or did I miss something.
