As per section "Dreambox Basics" of your document, rear of my box is exactly like DM 500-C/T but mother board is etched with words "DM500S Dream Multimedia 2007 Rev. 8.0".

I am bit confused that the box is for Cable (C) or Satellite (S)? I got this box from my friend and was planning to falsh it with img file using DreamUp. There is no name/model printed on outer of box. It only says DVB.

Please assist if this box is to be used with Cable or Satellite?

Hey first thanks to all the memers here for excellent info on the site, its a leraners dream!!
Anyways I need litte help, I have a Dreambox 500C and have followed all the tutorials, I have flashed the image, ftp'ed the images, then chosen bruteforce UK to scan

and the box works and picks up all the channels and their programme schedules but only bbc1/2, itv, channel4 and channel5 work, can someone help me please..

downloaded this guide and unziped it but i can only see the index; clicking on any of the topic says " navigation to the webpage was cancelled". Any idea why?
Also I have flashed my box with dv 1.1 image; now where do I find the "magic" files to download?

I'm totaly dump on dream box I'm used to my eurovision but I fancied a change, I bought DreamBox and its laying there for ages I have no idea which FTP to download and softwear goes into it. If you don't mind can you guide me even by link you've mentioned it somewhere before.

It's been ages since I tried to update my DreamBox but I can't get Nagrarom7 software, is anyone has got clue where I can download it. I've tried on download section I can't find and once I received a link but I'm not allowed to access.

I want to thanx Devilfish and every1 who contributed to help me and every1 who seeks help on this forum(newbies) follow the help you get. My box finally works, I am spechless when I saw all channels listings and not only that they show.
I'm delighted with instructions given and downloaded them and followed step by step.

I'm newbies ,just getting into Dreambox ,bought yesterday a 500s ,dont know if it's good idea ,recomonded by friend ,or i should gone for newer ,anyway looking forward to learn more about it,thanks ever so much for all of you

Own a 500c and cannot record via the LAN to a share with the neutrino image with any quality. Engima - (Pli Jade) worked fine for record so hoping to reflash the box again. Downloading this guide to help me remember what to do. Its a real shame as the neutrino image is the best for everything else.

Hi

Null cable and dreamup is the only way to make a dead box alive. But with lots of motherboards phasing out the com port, will there be a USB version + dreamup version? Or can we jusy put in a adapter and it will work?
