well first you woul have to look at the diff for enigma1 (it should be in dev section ) make some sense of it then open up enigma 2 and see how to apply. The problem will be that enigma1 sources are c++ and enigma2 is python and as theres not much call for e2 cable not many teams will want to look at this problem

Im no programmer so thats not looking good as I wouldnt know where to start.

My 500gb hard drive just arrvied just now...so going to put that in this morning and see how that goes.

There is also options to save epg on hard drvie and different epg options, so I wonder if possible for box to grab epg from net andshow that instead. Shall inform of the progress.

When done I'll make my image with ALL files included etc... availible to anyone who wants it, hopefully save you some headache.

try the loadepg tool its for sat but im sure theres a option to have it download from radiotimes website (look at loadepg.conf ) prob wont get all cable channels but id imagin it'l get most

Ok, got 500gb installed and it appears to be spinning when utrned on. But in natblo blue panel setup, hard drive wizard, it doesnt see the hardware.

Should I format it firt on my pc or???

Ok, Ive formated it to ntfs format, but still the dreambox 800 cant see it.

I have just reflashed the unit with gemini4.4 in device manager, still doesnt see it.

Anyone any ideas???

Try formatting in pc as FAT or FAT32. Then put in box.

Well this is my experience, I had a genuine DM800 which I have purchased a cable tuner for and this is what I have done and am pretty happy with it.

Downloaded the latest PLI Jade image for DM800.

Scanned for channels

downloaded mgcamd and uploaded roms.

Everything started to clear and I am happy with the speed of the EPG seems fine however it only downloads the next 8 hours so this may not be what you are after. Now and next is fine and on all channels.

Will keep you updated as I keep on playing around with this config

So, after 10hours of trial and testing, I have failed to get the hard drive to be reconised by the dreambox so am at a lost as to what to try now....Im giving up for the night and if anyone comes up with a plausible way to get it to work, shall resign myself to failing.

Have you got any other HD that are a sata you can use to test? They don't have to be 2.5

The problem isnt formating, its getting the image to see the drive is attached first
