i cannot seem to get channels working on the DigKaos file for dreambox
500-c scanned all channels received but there blank ?????

And the files that were ftp'd over they were ok to sit were ive put them?

yes they both should be in /var/
so you will see /var/keys
and see
/var/scce

How long do you usually wait for an encrypted channel to come through, also just wondering that my key folder and scce has the right files does anyone have a screen shot of there folders they could post or describe

these are the 2 files to be transfered to /var/ in screen shot 1
in screen shot 2 and 3 are what files should be in there
wait 3 to 4 min on a encypted channel then switch to another encypted channel

if this doent work it may be that version of evocamd
so goto blue button i think addons
delete or remove evocamd 2.17
ftp the attached evocamd 2.13tar,bz2 file to the temp folder
go back to blue button addons >manual install there you will should see the new evocamd 2.13 there to install so do that,after it is installed restart the new cam
see if that works

Love to say it was a go but its not getting there, i'm sure it will though and all help passed on is fantastic, think its just the cams which is holding me up? is there any files I need that you think I could be missing?

Man I can only say thanks for your time and your skill just to add for any one else reading this with the same problems reboot your box after changing the new cam.

Just need to find out how to group the channels in a better order

the best way to sort your channels into a better order is with aprogram called Dreamboxedit

usally i do via the remote
goto
menu>setup>service organising>create new bouquet>tv
create all your bouquets like for instance
general
movies
music
sports
kids
documentaries
uktv
adult
once you have done that
goto all services list
as you go through that list say highlight bbc1 press menu >add to percific bouquet:then it will give you the list of your bouquets then select general for example then it should take you back to the all services list,then highlight bbc2,and keep going
it may take about 20 mins
thereare a couple of other way but this will get you started

how sure are you that you have a proper null modem cable?
