Just flashed this image to 2 boxes and i'm very impressed with it, well done devilfish

I have one small problem though, on one of the boxes the bouquets scrolling is back to front. If i press the < arrow it goes forwards and the > arrow backwards! is there any way to rectify this? Thanks

I've heard of this before and I don't know how it happens or how to rectify it, sorry.

Maybe try flashing the image again.

wow excellent image, i just got my new box to replace my failing box and decided to try this one out (i have been running dw for the last 10 months or so). i loved the virtually automated nas setup, made things much easier, the scanning .... well what can i say!!!! less that 10 mins my brand new box was up and running.
i was a bit suprised with the box link up feature (name evades me atm), will this only link up with kaos images or any other images? and what does it do copy over boquets?, im gona put this image on my failing box soon once im 100% happy with it. atm its the fastest image ive seen on the 500. even quicker than the excellent wiggies image some time back.

DF the fast scan misses quite a few channels out here so i dont really know whats going on there!! the normal scan works perfect tho!

ftp strangeness with new image

hi guys

im trying and getting know where trying to put keys and secc files in to the correct folder using ftp. i can see the box using the web interface and i can ftp a folder/ files to the /tmp folder. i know this as i can put back on my dw image and re flash my box.

when i telnet into the box i log in as "root" and "dreambox" fine and i can view things fine and notice that when i ls the /var-init folder the /tmp folder comes up in a different colour to the rest of the folders in var. im assuming this is the permissions that are being set.

ive tried to read the permissions for both the keys folder and scce and i get back the following

the error i get when i use windows ftp is (btw logged in as root)
200 binary it is then
227 entering passive mode ???
553 could not create file


its like i dont have write permissions ( or it feels that way) to scce or keys

ive tried flashing the image with backup script in dw image ive ftpd it and used telnet to flash it . ive tried dreamup with and without the flash erase and nothing seems to be happening.

its a mystery and ive been at this for the last 2 days. im impressed with the default skin on the image but this has me stumped

any help will be really appericated

If you are using dreamup, select YES to flash erase if you are using this image. You only choose no if you are flashing a backup.

That sounds like a weird one! If you can connect with ftp you should be able to transfer the files over. But if you've selected NO to flash erase when flashing with dreamup, it might not have set up the /var folder correct. I'd reflash with dreamup and select YES to flash erase after flash and see how it goes.

V1.0 or V1.1

Hi guys,

Just to check, which version would everyone recommend, v1.0 or v1.1. Also, do you need to install v1.0 first and then upgrade or os v1.1 standalone.

Stick to v1.1 and no you don't need to install v1.0 first.

Just flashed DK1.1 Great image,working perfectly.Before i do my other Dreambox is it possible to extract mrdudes skin from the DW 2.0 image and put it on the DK 1.1 If it can be done could someone tell me how.Thanks Delv

sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. i will try dreamup again with that flash erase. it is v strange. i thought i saw a plug in for erasing a complete image somewhere would you know anything about it??

further update : after flash erasing the previous image completely using dreamup i then flash the dk 1.1 image using the flash erase while programming. since then it has started to settle down and is performing flawlessly. v impressed with dk so far lots to explore thanks a million devilfish for helping me out its greatly appreciated.

Flash the image by whatever method you're used to, copy over the files to /var/keys and /var/scce, scan for channels, go to sky sports 1 then reboot the box using the reboot now option in the shutdown menu,

Job done.

Yeah I remember it well! Took me 3 days to manage to connect to my dbox2 via ftp....agggghhhh!
