How do i Play Files From Pc on MY DM800

Hi guys im a little stuck and am wondering how i can play Movie files that i have on my PC through my DM800 im sure its possible but just dont know where to start

You need to set up a mount on the dreambox which points to a shared folder on your PC.

First of all, ftp to the box, go to /var/mnt and create a folder called 'movies'.

Use the web interface to set up the mount instead of the remote and menus.

Enter the ip address of your dreambox into your browser.
Username: root
Password: dreambox

Go to CONFIG > MOUNT MANAGER

Enter in the details. (see pic)

Make sure the folder on your pc is shared.

Click mount and after about 10 secs you should see a green tick, that's the mount successful.

On the dreambox, press MENU > File Mode > root > var > mnt > movies

You should see the contents of the shared folder on your PC.

Oh...and the dreambox will only play MPEG movies or variations of MPEG. It won't play avi, divx, xvid, etc.

Should work for any dreambox.

If you want to stream avi files, etc. you will need to use VLC to transcode the files to mpeg then steam to your dreambox. I'll leave yous to search for that bit as I don't know off the top of my head.

Instead of /var it might be /usr, depending on the file structure.

thats all for another day im still not networked up yet ive been off sick for last 6 weeks so moneys a bit tight at the minute to get the gear needed

but il keep reading and learning for when it comes round which is what its all about

on the dm800 and dm7025 which are enigma2 the web interface is different
im sure the mount manager is in the image via the remote on the tv
image dependant
i have not got a dm800 but on my dm7025 it should be done that way
as the images on these two boxes i think are very similar
some one correct me if im wrong

im having this problem? how do you mount a p.c drive to the 7025 so i can watch movies from the p.c on my t.v through the dreambox anyone can help me set this up please?

I'm useing nabilosat blackhole image, when I type my dm800 address in browser I get the blackhole image and that does not give me a mount option is there something that I am doing wrong ?

Is there a quide on how to mount on DM800 (like view movies from a PC or an extenal USB drive)???

hi all,
I can record what is displayed on my DM500 on my PC using mFaraj Dreambox Viewer and everything is ok. But I tried several times to see what was recorded on my PC back to my DB but never worked.
Please can anyone explain this step by step for a newbie like me
