or use new tuxflash tools to rip it out

edit: scrub that about new tuxflash forgot its a squashfs img - the cam should be in /bin/emu

I have flashed the C10 x1 image onto my dbox. I have FTP'd the cams and keys from old Sportster image. The emu folder has been CHMOD'd to 755 but all I am receiving are the FTA channels????

You were right first time, m8. C9.25 came with NO cams nor keys, so T-C wouldn't have set it up to have the cams in the unwriteable squashed part of the image, LOL!

In fact, the cams live in /var/bin (which is empty in the release version).

oh yes of course it has to be the var/bin/emu with a squashfs img its just that with newtuxbox flash tools the var folder isn't shown so i guess it has to be accessed by ftp with img on box..??

I have been playing about with commando 10 image for weeks, but to no avail.I fully respect the great work by the boffins, but this ones got me beat. If you can help me
it would be much appreciated.could you pm me with reply

I am well aware of who released the fix and admire his work but I like lots of other people find it hard to absorb the info needed to do the dbox2 but I try.
Now what are we to do keep telling the not so bright peeps "LOOK, READ TRY YOURSELF FFS" when its obvious they are trying but just don't understand enough to do it, or do we help as much as we can, even if it means sending them a working image.
I think the later as it will keep them away from the scumbags who charge for the working image.
I have now got the commando 10 image working only took me 7 hours LOL, I will send to anyone who asks just to keep them away from the traders, hell for all I know it could well be a trader asking, as long as I help a few I don't really care m8

How old was the image? If its from before Dec 2008 it will require the nagrarom7 dropping into the keys folder.

Don't think I'm trying to teach my granny to suck eggs, m8- but viewing a SquashFS image with TuxFlashTools, the /var partition (and of course, the subfolders of /var) is ALL you can see, LOL!

You cannot access the squashed part of the image at all with this handy utility.

And if memory serves me right, although you can 'see' the squashed folders and files with FTP, any files you try and extract will be unusable anyway, as they are compressed!

Im stumped.

Just reflashed the new c10 2x and that gone fine. Only got the FTA channels! Just because im thick and ive been trawling through this thread for over an hour now and its bedtime, can any one give me simple english step by step instructions?

I have:
- Copied the Services and boutiques from my older laky pro image.

- Copied the whole of the keys folder from my old image which i had previously updated the nagarom7 file.

- Copied an evocamd group of files into var/bin/emu. Theres 2 files in there now: camd_cfg and evocamd.mips
(This is the one im totally lost on, took a couple of different looking downloads to get one to extract)

Im looking forward to discussing the epg issues, but i just want more channels!

Read Only Mode?

I've fxp'd the latest c10b image which has come up fine on the dbox but when I try to fxp the .xmls onto the box the fxp software keeps saying connection disconnected.

Also when executing a scan it finds the channels but just as the scan finishes I get the error message 'no channels found please execute a scan.

You need to go with Comm 10 c for best results
Fxp Pass =commando
you need to set your location befor you scan

Please please can someone direct me to the evocamd file. I flashed and didnt save it.. I have downloaded loads of evocamd files, and winrar wont unzip to anywhere. Another one i downloaded shows various evocamd files, .mips; .ppc; .stapi; and a feynman.cfg; and camd.cfg.
Am I right in assuming the evocamd file I need is a .cfg ?
I feel I am very close... my roms are in, AU etc. Only started this morning, 11pm now.
