Can i use the ppcboot read_flash file? When i downloaded bootmanager there were 2 ppcboot files inside it. 1 was write_flash and the other read_flash

I have now managed to pass the first step. After clicking start the box try to Boots but its not going into the reset screen. I tried whats on the guides, holding the sleep and up button together, but still the box is not going into the rest mode. Its coming up with these in the comms:

***Adapter Desc: Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection (Microsoft's Packet Scheduler)
      ***MAC address: 00:11:11:E5:49:5E Local IP: 192.168.1.67 (via Packet-Driver #1)
      ***BootP server started... Port 67
      ***TFTP server started... Port 69

You can only use the ppcboot file

You have set your pc nic to 10baseT_halfduplex or 10halfmode?
when you get reset in the lcd press and hold the up button in till you get the row of numbers at the bottom of the Lcd.
now do the flash reset short with the wire you will see the 5 blocks appear between the numbers
as soon as you see the 5 blocks release the wire or what ever you are using to short it
If it starts to flash “reset” again repeat the above till you get the 5 blocks.
          Then release the wire
now you should be able to type the commands in the com window

try creating a dbox2 folder on ur root drive C:\Dbox2.....install bootmanager into this folder.....then add this folder to it

                  tftpboot.rar

make it look like this with the box ip and ur network card

fergal i have used the ppcboot file you put above but still the box wont go into reset mode. Its the 1.0 version so i it has to go into reset mode first before i can SHOT it. Been seating here 2 days i a role now and feel like giving up.

All settings are correct. 10mbpt/half duplex, static IP address, turning off fire wall and anti virus. I can see the Box booting up in the bootmanager comms window, but still the dbox wont go into reset.

Help guys. What other trick could i use

Let the box boot up fully for about 5 minutes while its doing that unistall dboxmanager and reinstall it into C:/
put the 3 ppcboot files into C:/
reboot your pc and power the box off then try again
you can press and hold the power and up button in until the lcd goes blank then let go to do a power reset
instead of unplugging all the time i think.

thanks fegal. i have managed to send the box into reset. i have done this via the image flashing assistant. once the box was in reset i SHOT it and closed the image flash assistant, and opened the bootmanager programme. i was able to write commands but it came up with this message:

                              Non-BootP TFTP-transfer requested "kernel-cdk"
TFTP> Couldn't initiate TFTP-transfer! (possibly file not found)

You need to get it to reset using dboxmanager dont use the dboxmanager the comes as add on with ifa use the stand alone version and dont worry about it saying ping failed in the bottom right corner this is normal.
