Hi there i have been having a problem with this image and getting the non FTA channels to work, ive read through this whole topic and the guide throughs posted at least 5 times yet i still cant get the non FTA channels to work

Can someone please be kind enough to help me out...The problem where i can see is the evocamd problem as im not sure what should go there as someone has posted a luink to get real magiv files but im not sure where they go and which files to use proplerly.

Hi thanks for your reply, ive followed those steps and still nothing

ive transferred everything to the correct folders rescanned the channels rebooted the dbox switched over to Sky Sports 1 and still nothing

and changed that chmod thing to 755 as said in thos real magic files :S

hdd settings

great work on this image guys just 1 problem for me

got all channels working fine but cant seem to get my hard drive set up
have tried the initialize part of the menu under blue button and been into recording setting on the dbox settings menu but still cant seem to get it to work

a quick walk through of the settings would be much appreciated if anyone has the time and the know how

did you select a filesystem format on the ide menu first? if there is no arrow at the side of any of the options then it wont work.

recordng device: direct (file)
use spts mode on
(o sync) on
recording directory /hdd

i have these setting as u have said
i have an arrow next to xfs as the file system but when i try to record it start then after about a minute i get and error saying the takrget directory is not writable

while in the blue button menu -> commando ide-hdd setup menu there is is an option for hard drive partition info (number 3 i think) if i select it i get an error saying the mount point doesnt exist (mount point \hdd)


anyone ony idea's?

yes, i have an idea!

ive had a quick look and there are 3 problems with the ide-hdd. i dont think any of the creators have an ide interface to test with so they are probably just using the commando10a stuff when the ide-hdd menu was created and tested as working.

1)
the xfs filesystem is compiled for an older kernel version than the one in the image. this is kernel specific and needs recompiling for kernel version in the image.

2)
the wrong ext fs version is in the image, and so ext2 wont work either. ext3 has been put in the image where only ext2 is required instead of ext3.

3)
the symlink mkfs.ext2 has a typo as its target and does not point to the correct file, so ext2 wouldnt have formated the hdd even if the ext2 fs was included in the image.

im sure there will be a patch to get you up running soon though

just a quick one, on other images I could hold down the standby button on controls for like 5 seconds to shutdown the box, this doesnt work on this image and I cant suss out the way to enable it, any suggestions, i used dbox button -> power button as a work around but would like to enable the holding down option if possible. cheers Dave

here is a recompiled xfs filesystem for the commando11 kernel.

try copying over and overwriting the current xfs.o
this can be found in \lib\modules\2.4.37-dbox2\kernel\fs\xfs\xfs.o

you will need to go throught the xfs initilization and formating process again.

Ive finally got the image to work with all the channels working just the EPG doesnt show, any ideas why?

Cant get it to flash??

Hi, flashed quite a few images now but this one wont seem to flash. I use IFA to flash em , and up to now i've had no problems, but tries to flash this and wont connect to IFA on dbox power connection. I've checked i.p etc they seem fine but on dbox ping on screen i get "Socket error"??

Never had this before and I think it may be this that's the problem area.
Any thoughts guys please?

I'm in the same boat! Some channels show the EPG but most don't. Any one any ideas?
