ive done both of the things as you say and it after working for a while it says epg lodaing on the dbox xcreen and nothing appear next to the channles on the dbox..that is till i rebooth the dbox then it works again for an hour or so and same thing happens =/

I have exactly the same issue here - i have tried PaphosAL's suggestions and am waiting to see the results.

Same symptoms, DBox2, X2 Image, EPG fails after around 30 mins, have tried both default and ultra safe settings.

Update alert

Manual Update to version 12.1.2 - 01 March 2010

Fixes:

1) New zapit by Cydine and LraiZer; Fast or BruteForce Scan with VM-style Bouquets now fully compatible with the new Channel Map being introduced UK-wide. (Still works correctly in areas not updated yet, don't worry).

2) Revised cables.xml to grab some missing pr0n channels. (thanks to AlcoholJunkie for the heads-up on this issue)

Instructions- the simplest EVER, included in a readme. This manual update is for you guys who cannot, or will not, connect your C12 dbox to the web. For those who have- just click on 'Online Updates' in the System Menus, and hit the red button!

The updates are compatible for both 1x and 2x boxes. But they are for Commando 12 only, and NOT for peeps still running C11.3.11 or earlier!! Reflash with Commando 12 please, then update...

We're still investigating the EPG issue, sorry!

Just an update on this - EPG still failing after making PaphosAL's suggestions.

We are currently undertaking some seriously intensive sectionsd logging / testing in order that FreddyFr0g can hopefully trap the culprit.

Problem is, he cannot get it to crash at all, so the poor bloke is relying entirely on input from the four testers involved (inc me).

There's a 'segmentation fault' somewhere, causing a malloc error, and for sectionsd to abort itself.

Seriously, a lot of peeps are suddenly finding ALL channels have vanished, (including FTA), thanks to their area being upgraded to the new 'one size fits all' Channel Map.

Many users don't seem to know where they live, so can't get Fast Scan to work. They resort to Brute Force Scan, only to find after half an hour that this returns 0 channels...

Guys- If you're on the release issue of Commando 12, but haven't applied the easy Updates yet- then ffs PLEASE read post #1 in this thread, and update to C12.1.2

This contains Cydine's fixes for a) Brute Force Scan not working, and b) Gets the VM-style Bouquets creation working properly for the new Channel Map! (Still backwardly compatible if your area isn't yey on the new map).
