I seen all your other posts Harry in relation to what type of box to get. To be honest the best box to get is the one your are comfortable with maintaining and obviously cost is also a perspective to look at.
I use both open and closed sourced boxes so I sit on the fence in regards to the usual linux V closed source boxes, the usual response is however valid. Opensource is community supported closed source is supported by manufacturers, importers etc, so for more support linux is the way to go.
Regards buying a HD cable box, I wouldnt go down that line until more HD channels are introduced the cost is too high for one HD channel.
Why not get a Eurovox 1000SL, which is a budget box but is just as good without the one HD channel.
I thought you had a 500C, why not stick with that?
