    Try scan at midnight or 6 a.m. when usage is low in your area. Best bet isvariable attenuator to fix signal issue. Borrow a different box from friend to try (stavu or other) at your house
    Yay to Man Utd. . I've tried a variable attenuator, signal booster... no luck. scanning 6887 brings no channels so 6952 must be right for my area, its just the fluctuations during the day which kill the picture. im holding out hope that vm are doing work and this will clear up in early september.

      Try MENU---TV SETTINGS--SIGNAL BOOSTER (on)
      Use 6952 to scan with SIGNAL BOOSTER ON
      Then try scan with SIGNAL BOOSTER OFF.
      Make sure your signal strength is not too high as 95% + signal causes
      havoc with eurovox tuners. If signal is too high use var. attenuator to
      reduce levels

        thanks for the help eamo but unfortunately I've tried those things. it has to be with high usage rate on the line or work being done by vm during the day.

        Ive got a v attenuator and a signal booster and have tried both (obviosuly not at the same time) with no luck.

        looks like i can only watch late at night! thats the only time the signal looks to be 'clean'.

        i'll try getting an engineer round if it doesnt clear up.

          Try a STAVU 1 genuine box, they work very well on poor signal
          If you can't get one P.M. me & I will post you one free, they are no use
          on N*L (EIRE) with nagra 3 encryption. There are thousands of them
          here gathering dust

            Hi I've tried all the suggestions with no joy its a shame because they used to work so perfectly.

            If its not to much trouble could I ask if I could loan one of those STAVU's? Everyone I know that has a hacked box has Eurovox if it works id be more than happy to pay you for it or even swap it with one of my 1000sl's if you would prefer?

              Hi there

              I wondered if you manged to get your issue of installing the channels with them being named properly and not saying TVch1 etc?

              Also did you solve the problem of the "no or bad signal"

              My signal is from the Manchester area and I am having exactly the same problem - However I tried the box at a friends who lives two minutes away and his was fine - Not on the same street though.

                Another person! This is really strange. Like I say, I only got my box about a week ago so I don't know if it would have been OK a few weeks ago. Did yours just start happening? I just have poor signal all the time except late a night.

                Strange that it works at your mates house though....

                  No my box hasn't worked at all at my house and I got it 6 days ago - I have pretty much tried everything - The only thing I havent tried is taking the splitter out of the brown box on the front of my house and fitting an F to F connector - And I haven't tried a variable attenuator.

                  When I did a deepscan I got up to T034 then when the channels download all I get listed is TVch1 to TVch11 and none of these have any signal - My BB is working fine tho

                    It sounds like your both having identical issues to me, the odd thing is as well my grandad's service started doing this about a couple of months ago in Oldham, the box's worked perfect at mine. The symptoms have been identical.

                    More and more people are reporting this issue so im really wondering if its a network issue or if its something that is being rolled out to try and stop hacked box's, it could just be bad luck but my signal stats now on my main feed are aparently excelent after I reported a signal issue and had an engineer out.

                      Hi Drefsab - So is your box working OK now after having this same issue and getting an engineer out?

                      I have upgraded to the basic TV package which I'm having delivered tomorrow and so I will organie and engineer to come out

                        No im afraid its not, he came out said the signal was low, boosted it but when he left I tried the eurovox's I have and still no joy with them.

                          The channels im receiving are labelled fine. I get a couple of Tv1..2..3 etc but everyone gets those.. generally the PPV channels. I'm on the tv package so my signal should be fine. I spoke to another forum member who suggested that this maybe something vm is rolling out to try to combat the boxes. Who knows?

                          Im going to try a starview which supposedly can handle low signals better. I don't know if its worth calling an engineer out, the levels look fine on my vm box.... SNR of around 30 which is OK, no RS errors... like I say, will see how the starview box gets on and report back to you guys.

                          Keep us posted!

                          Maybe its worth us mentioning what firmware we have? I have the latest. Mayve one of us should try the previous one and see? I dont have a null cable modem. What about you guys?

                            Please stop posting "I have latest FIRMWARE2
                            Try posting F/ware version & location & members here can tell you if you
                            have correct F/ware for your area, as latest F/ware is N2 fix & not for U.K.

                                Borrow Stavu 1 or Digivox, usually better on poor signal
