hi guys, i tried to install the USB driver but it was a "DRV Remover" I don't know what it has done to my laptop?! Is that what should have been downloaded via that link? How do I know if my laptop has now recognised the cable? thanks
P.S. I bought the cable from Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=370124907312 and this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=120343734127
I went into Device Manager and there is nothing for COM Ports, I saw the name of the cable but it says driver not installed so I tried a driver from here - http://www.wiretek.com.cn/download.a...er_lei=windows nothing seems to have happened yet though.Last edited by gunjambo; 21 December, 2008, 18:22.Comment

Flasshing Eurovox
Hi all,
Used the cables and connected my eurovox as shown/described on the diagrams etc, but when I connect it to my pc, the pc is not picking anything up.
Checked my My Computer/Hardware/Device Manager/Ports and they show Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (Comm 8) so it appears to have recognised the Usb to Serial port adaptor, but not the Eurovox (connected to the adaptor (I confirm that it's connected via a straight through Serial RS232 9 Pin Female to Female cable).
If I can't correct this, how can I flash the box?
Can anyone also let me know which udates I need to flash (i.e. do I just need to flash the most recent or do I need to flash earlier updated first?).
Could use a link to the latest flash update.
Thanks all!

No it should be disconnected from the telewest cable. Only the main and the Null Modem Cable atttached to your PC.
Hope this help.

Take a look here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...firmware-9787/I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

If anybody is trying to get the usb to serial cable to work under vista 64 bit, you can forget about it, coz I tried but in vain. I think it will only work for vista 32 bit and xp of course. If you happen to have vista 64 bit installed (like me) your only option is to run a virtual copy of xp within vista or dual boot your computer. Hope this help.Comment
