SILVER DIGIVOX PROBLEMS

Been reading the other digivox threads and think the same answers may apply to me.

Like the other posters,im a complete novice with these boxes.I have been using my box for a couple of years now-and every once in a while i have entered new codes and things have been fine.

Just now my box is still working-well sort of.I have lost all my sky sports,plus sky1,sky2,sky3 and all sky movies.

Is this the end for my box,or does anyone have any ideas how i could maybe fix this?

have u tried a factory reset 0000 to delete,autoscan ur provider and emu to on,channel movement causes u to lose channels.firmware for silver digivox v4300.

I just tried the factory reset,following your instructions.

I have turned the emu on and selected telewest.I have now attempted a new automatic scan,but its not progressing by 5%

P>s my digivox is both black and silver...silver on top,black on bottom

i had same problem..sounds as if you need to flash your box with firmware..i done it yesterday and my box is sorted

Any chance of a fool proof guide please if you have time?

As i have said earlier,im a complete novice and have never done anything like this before,so as detailed a help would be greatly appreciated X

im a complete novice as well.....but the people on here are great....go to the sticky threads at the top of the page..then digivox firmware au fixes,read all the posts in there they were a great help to me....the download u need is v4300....hope that helps u

Just went to attempt to flash the box there.Can you believe my new pc does not have a 9pin serial port for cable.The only serial port it has my monitor is into.

I have the usb connection for the 9pin port,but when i try and download the bin file,the com isnt recognised

something like this USB Serial Adaptor, Serial Device to USB PC/Mac NEWLINK on eBay, also, Adaptors, Cables Connectors, Computing (end time 22-Jun-09 21:00:00 BST)

you can get them at all good pc shops or maplins

I have 1 here as i also have a laptop.

So i tried using it with my new pc into a usb port and the downloader couldnt find the right com?

have a look in device manager on your pc/lappy to make sure com post isnt being used by something else, or change it in device manager to a com port thats listed within the loader

Erm,how would i do that?

Press start button
Move mouse over My Computer to highlight it, then right hand mouse click
Then click on Manage
Double click on device manager
plug in usb
then you should see the ports(com& lpt) click on the plus sign at the side and it will drop
down and should say prolific serial usb to (com?) that ? number is what you need, try the usb
in all on usb ports on puter, if you find 1 thats 4 or less use that port and number and select same number on loader

Hi wilf,

I get as far as 'plug in usb' i cant see the port and comms option?

Im using XP

EDIT: Im just thinking.I havent installed the drivers for the usb rs323,will i have to do this 1st?
