I've just read on another forum well known forum that there are people in the USA and Japan who are very close to a N3 fix. The sooner VM switch to N3 the better IMO.

Unfortunately not everyone that posts on forums tells the truth, some people like making up stories to make themselves sound important, and some people are a little bit nuts.

So you really need to look at a person's posting history etc and see whether they are credible or not.

just like on here. If someone like Satsmo was to post something like that then we would maybe believe it but if a new user posted it we would laugh at him and throw him in with the junk.

THERE IS NO NAGRA 3 FIX...end of story,for a while.
I'd recommend that you close this thread because things are going to escalate to pure and utter rumors.Sorry for the caps but can people understand the situation yet,theres enough talk around the forum about it.

As Alun has mentioned before in few other threads N3 is unlikely to be hacked until late 2010 early 2011 most definitely in time for the olympics though

I got talking to my cousin today, who bought a eurovox 5100 pvr from that guy on meath street, 3 weeks ago

At the time the guy guaranteed the box until 2012.

Now that N*L have gone N3 He is probably getting alot of returns.

However when my cousin rang him, he said there is a "fix" for it and just pop in and he will "fix it". Smells a bit funny if you ask me

I am looking forward to hearing what happens next.

The problem is there are thousands of websites just like this one all across Europe and the U.S (in fairness there is not much rumor or crap posted on D.K mainly due to the spirt and the kind of members we attract to this website) never the less, we all read or are members else where were its incouraged to spread rumor to keep attached Shops busy with sales of receivers etc.

I also mentioned previously now is not the time to spend any money regarding this hobby, what is happening now is Satellite and cable shops especially online are dumping there stock at a knocked down price instead of been left with door stops !

As for the rumors of a Fix, Even if an opening is found in America for some hick town in Idahoe due to every provider useing a different Rom, Nagravision can switch it with a new one in a few hours ! and the hackers are back to square one !

Lastly any Encryption worth hacking or opening normaly comes from the Satellite side of things not Cable (Cable is seen as the poor releation of Satellite) due to it been regional rather than national or international as is the case with satellite !

As I have posted only the other day out of all the Encryption currently been used by providers in Europe Nothing has been opened or hacked since Nagra 2 was given to us on a plate a few years ago ! There is no Hacking group able to open any of the newer encryption released of the past few years ! and I personaly think Nagravision 3 / 4 will be no different !

If N3 is opened it will be closer to the end of its life expediancy rather than the beguining maybe 2011 some news may come to light...

Thats exactly it, and even in hackers do manage to hack N3, i very much doubt it will be released publicly like the way N1 was way back.

Alot of hackers got nothing in the end, but greedy traders made thousands and thousands out of it.

It was truly leeched to death.

There might not be any incentive for them to open it, or they might not be actively trying to open it, however saying that noone can do it, is wrong. If it can be created, it can be broken.

But when you look at the bigger picture Seca, Viaccess, NDS, Irdeto, Conax Cryptoworks, Dreamcrypt & BetaCrypt just to name a few all of which are used across Europe & in other parts of the world on Satellite and Cable have not been hacked or opened ....

Nothing has been opened for years (EMU / Keys) ! Since we were handed N2 on a plate no other Encryption has been hacked or released anywhere ....

Simple Logic would support N3 / N4 will be no different ! If the Hacking Groups could not open anything else over the past number of years & Nagra 2 was Hacked by NDS -Rupert Murdock's NewCorp and released freely to the world.

So are we supposed to believe that the people that could'nt open any of the above encryptions i have listed over the past number of years can open N3 ?

Forget It ! everyone is in for a long wait !
