    New 2015 Enigma2 Boxes DVB-C and DVB-S2 Zgemma Star H1 & 2S

Hi people I've been an enigma2 user for many years and I have been waiting a long time for a good affordable box especiallywith DVB-C. So I thought I would give a little back with my review.

    Introducing the Zgemma Star H1 & 2S
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]These are the latest boxes from ****** and theyare fantastic! They have official software support OpenATV, Air Digital now part of OE Alliance. Zgemma is an original box! The kernel was made by air digital software engineers, so it works much more stable. These boxes have CE, Rosh certification, dolby, HDMI,and CA license.
The best part is they are delivered to the UK for about ?85 all in!

Zgemma Star H1 Poweful MIPS 751MHz CPU
    512MB DDR3RAM 256MB NAND Flash
    DVBS2 + DVB-C Samsung 101A Cable TunerBuilt-in Full 1080P
Supportofficial Italysat, OpenATV, Opendroid 2x USB

So first things first it's delivered in good quality packaging. The manual is really informative and worth a look if your new to engima2 boxes. The remote control really is quality and has a great feel to it, better than VU remote. My boxes came with openatv installed. I prefer vix images so I visited h**p://www.zgemma.tv/ and got the latest openvix-Apollo.124-zgemma-star-h1_usb 16-01-2015image. When you've downloaded the image put the folder zgemma to the root of the usb stick. I used a quality sandisk usb as I found crappy usb sticks were no good. Then put the usb in the back usb port of the box and turn on to flash, box restarts automatically when complete.
Flash time takes about 2 minutes and then restarts itself automatically.

From power off to viewing channels boot time takes....37 seconds. I installed ******, picons, tsmedia, skins (RED HD) and crossepg all to internal flash and running fantastic. No heat issues just a nice cool running box. Plays streaming media fine through tsmedia. I used the record function with my 16GB sandisk no problems records and plays perfect. Used sat and cable tuner together just like a traditional twin tuner no problem. Fantastic value for your money!

ZgemmaStar 2S Poweful MIPS 751MHz CPU
    512MB DDR3RAM 256MB NAND Flash
    DVBS2 TWIN Tuner Built-in Full1080P
    Supportedofficially by Italysat,OpenATV,Opendroid 2x USB

So I also used vix apollo 124 image zgemma-star-2S for this box. Again around 37 seconds for a full boot. Installed ******* picons, tsmedia, skins (Blue HD) and crossepg to internal flash and running great. Used timer to set recordings for later in the day different channels at same time no problem with my sandisk 16gb. Then initialised my WD passport 320gb external HDD and connected to frontand back usb ports recorded everything fine.

I have edited the thread as you had email addresses to sellers, it is verging on an advert but will leave it open for now. Also please read our rules relating to posts about CAMs.

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

Not clones and they have official support. No joke the build quality and price is spot on. These boxes are going to take over. Just shows how much the well known companies like vu etc are ripping us off with their massive prices. I have a genuine vu solo2.

the reason i asked vix forum has a list of firmware for boxes and none for above or single cable tuner box? and that box was an octagon but closed source.

forgot to ask if doing online update i am reading of other boxes getting stuck on red light,do they and warranty?

Isn't this the latest evolution of the I-Box3 and I-Box4?

OpenVix for this receiver is patched which screams clone as it is not officially supported, the only official support i can see is from Opendroid, OpenATV and Italysat all other images are patched versions.

Looks like its the newer I-Box receiver as above from Lincsat from looking around anyway

Air digital used to make cloudibox a so called cloned box. Clone box is a whole other subject did VU clone dreambox? And a load others clone vu?
Any way air digital now make these legitimate boxes, they no longer make clones. So they have written their own kernel and drivers and produced 2 very good boxes with official image support from italysat openatv and opendroid at the minute.

Vix team don't want to support Zgemma boxes because of air digital used to make clone box cloudibox. But who cares there are perfect images of vix available and plenty of them.

Also i'm sure vix are worried about the low price of these boxes seen as their main sponsor has boxes much more expensive. It's all politics. But I know these are the best enigma2 boxes out there at the moment for price and quality.

I would'nt use online update! The vix team choose not to support this box but there are loads of upto date vix images on zgemma.tv so if people want the latest apollo images they can just reflash themselves. All feeds work for downloadable plugins.

i always played safe and bought vu original units as quality,if you say these are cheaper builds is the qualty there as seen a few horrendous picture of vu duo clones from china and fire hazzards with crappy builds.

many people have used the online feature, what harm can it do??none if built correctly or ooops sh1te happens?

one reason i question everything before buying one.
