    Introducing the Zgemma Star H1 & 2S
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]These are the latest boxes from ****** and theyare fantastic! They have official software support OpenATV, Air Digital now part of OE Alliance. Zgemma is an original box! The kernel was made by air digital software engineers, so it works much more stable. These boxes have CE, Rosh certification, dolby, HDMI,and CA license.
The best part is they are delivered to the UK for about ?85 all in!

Zgemma Star H1 Poweful MIPS 751MHz CPU
    512MB DDR3RAM 256MB NAND Flash
    DVBS2 + DVB-C Samsung 101A Cable TunerBuilt-in Full 1080P
Supportofficial Italysat, OpenATV, Opendroid 2x USB

So first things first it's delivered in good quality packaging. The manual is really informative and worth a look if your new to engima2 boxes. The remote control really is quality and has a great feel to it, better than VU remote. My boxes came with openatv installed. I prefer vix images so I visited h**p://www.zgemma.tv/ and got the latest openvix-Apollo.124-zgemma-star-h1_usb 16-01-2015image. When you've downloaded the image put the folder zgemma to the root of the usb stick. I used a quality sandisk usb as I found crappy usb sticks were no good. Then put the usb in the back usb port of the box and turn on to flash, box restarts automatically when complete.
Flash time takes about 2 minutes and then restarts itself automatically.

From power off to viewing channels boot time takes....37 seconds. I installed ******, picons, tsmedia, skins (RED HD) and crossepg all to internal flash and running fantastic. No heat issues just a nice cool running box. Plays streaming media fine through tsmedia. I used the record function with my 16GB sandisk no problems records and plays perfect. Used sat and cable tuner together just like a traditional twin tuner no problem. Fantastic value for your money!

    512MB DDR3RAM 256MB NAND Flash
    DVBS2 TWIN Tuner Built-in Full1080P
    Supportedofficially by Italysat,OpenATV,Opendroid 2x USB

So I also used vix apollo 124 image zgemma-star-2S for this box. Again around 37 seconds for a full boot. Installed ******* picons, tsmedia, skins (Blue HD) and crossepg to internal flash and running great. Used timer to set recordings for later in the day different channels at same time no problem with my sandisk 16gb. Then initialised my WD passport 320gb external HDD and connected to frontand back usb ports recorded everything fine.

    What's the main difference here..?
Do these two work on both Cable and Satellite?
Or is it one for each service?

On paper the zgemma are quicker but in real life there's almost nothing to choose between them and in fact the solo is better for streaming from tsmedia or plex. If you want a box that is genuinely lightning quick try a gigablue quad plus, solo2, duo2 or the xtrend 8000 (i think it's the 8000) anyway

Hi - I've just purchased a Star S - I'm very impressed. The box seems to be lighting quick, compact and very slick. The only thing that lets it down imo is the casing, the styling is lacking and it looks like it uses the same shell as an OpenBox. Otherwise it's highly impressive and worth investing it one!

    Cheers for the heads-up.

Had a bit of trouble finding the spec of the new H3 devices, but from what I can gather:

    Zgemma H.S : Single-THREAD CPU, 1 x DVB-S2 Satellite Tuner
    Zgemma H.2H : Dual-THREAD CPU, 1 x DVB-S2 Satellite Tuner & 1 x DVB-C/T/T2 - Cable,Terrestrial & Terrestrial HD
    Zgemma H.2S : Dual-THREAD CPU, 2 x DVB-S2 Satellite Tuner

So it doesn't appear to be dual core - hoping these devices still get a performance kick though.

Do not get rid of the Solo2 just invest around ?49 on the VU+ USB Turbo Tuner which basically adds DVB-C/T/T2 to your solo2 as a 3rd tuner.

Cheaper option and way better than getting a new box, Most images now have the drivers for download from the plugin menu

    Best of Luck
Cheers buddy item ordered from WOS many Thx again digicon
