My honest and professional opinion is that this is an unfair contract term. Just because you have the receiver in your living room, why can't you watch it in another room? It is still the same sub, you are just not lifting up your receiver and taking it to another room, you are using technology to do it for you. If you look up the legal definition of the Unfair terms 'it has to cause an imbalance in the parties rights', and this term does. You can not view your subbed channels in any other room than that which the receiver is installed unless you decide to pay them more money for the sub that you already are paying for.
I will say it again, just because they have it as a condiition of service does not mean the conditions are legal. Also, it does not mean that sharing your own sub in your own house is illegal, the courts decide this, not Sky or Virgin, and to my knowledge there has not been a single case of this kind in the UK. Nor do I think there ever will be.
Of course sharing your sub with someone who does not have the right to view them is 100% illegal, and will always remain so.
