is there a server program l can use on windows ? l have a pc working 24/7 with vista linked to the network , and do l just need a usb reader then ?

you install linux debain onto any old pc , install cccam /newcs
setup and configure server and done

some linux coding experience is required many tutorials on the net if you use goggle. But once you have you server installed and running you just use FTP to manage files so you edit your script offline using your favourite CFG editor , i use crimson editor
then upload the file to the server with FTP and a client like filezilla

you also use the same programs such as CccaminfoPHP

which give u all info u need regarding your server and ccam stats

i would go into C and F lines but i think thats going too far into the whole card sharing topic too deeply considering its a banned subject here

there is more than enough tutorials on the net using google

but you must take each step stage by stage or it will become very overwhelming

i would recommend getting the server , network and ports setup and configured correctly with your box before you start playing with debains
and pc servers

Agreed.... Saves complicating things a lot..Neither is a Debian server required, again its great, but for a beginner, it is complicating things.

Its as simple as this. Install CCcam 2.1.3 on all your DM's, connect them up to the network ensure you know the IP's of the DM's and essentially the main one with the card in.

very interesting lads , l will defo me asking for your help and others when the new card hits the carpet .. if l can use my windows pc and my router this would be great and cheaper than paying for extra boxes

you need newcs if your reading a sly uk card then you use cccam to share the card

just like if you were in Italy and had sky itallia you would need oscam to read then use cccam to share

Not anymore for sly UK New white card. Cccam latest version 2.1.3 sorted this problem out. Do some more research.

I currently sub to a satellite card share (eagle 500s), is it possible that I could then use the main box as a server and get other boxes for each room to be clients?

this all depends on how you are running it.if you have an omnikey card reader (which i have) you still need newcs ,there is also a small issue with burn ,but hopefully most ppl know about this and are doing the right thing

as someone pointed out on here slingbox.i tried this,you need a good upload speed. obviously this way all is recieved via slingplayer on pc anywhere in the world.difference with the cardshare and cable is you will still need to serve each dreambox in your house with a cable feed.

Cardsharing requires an internet connection and anyone who has cable tv will probably be using cable BB so the cable company will easily be able to trace the culprits through the ip & mac addresses.

I'll stick to my basic VM package + bt line + tiscali for now then , just to have a tinker. I bought a 1mtr motorised
sat setup +500s dreambox pre -christmas , but not had the weather to install it yet !
