hi all,
I have an old starview 1 box. ?I have just given to a friend in another area. He has a ntl line at home but when i connect the box it say no signal and there is not one bar in the signal bar. The Emu is turned on but I cannot rectify the problem. I was wondering do the area codes need changing on the box if so how do i get hold of these?

factory reset 0000 to delete,plug coaxial into cable input and auto scan your provider make sure first no splitters or extensions,and then emu to on.

Starview Super Ireland

Hi Folks,

What's the story with SV Super in Ireland? I have been waiting paitiently for an updated firmware version to overcome Nagra 3 but as far as I am aware nothing has been posted......Is this the end of The Box????

you had better start reading plenty of posts relating to nagra 3 in irl and now in uk=no fix
who knows what the future brings and it applies to all cable boxes.

Just upgraded my starview 4 with this from 1.07 and now the box wont come on, Anyone else had this problem?

no its not a clone, we at least i dont think it it, theres no silver heatsink and bought from a reputable shop. My brother called me today to say his gave him a msg about invalid channel and when he tried to reboot it it died, so i told him to check on here to see if anyone else was having problems, he called me back and said it was dead and the only fix was to buy a new one which he did and put 1.12 on instead of 1.07. I checked mine when i got home and it seemed fine until around 1am when i got the message, so thinking myself smart (wrongly) i decided not to reboot the box but to upgraded the firmware (because acording to my brother it was 1.07 that was frying the bootloader) firmware seemed to go on ok but when it rebooted its self it died! nothing except the red light at the back had a look round google and it seems starview ar frying the clones which seems to be also killing early versions although mines only about 4 months old. I have just emailed the shop i got it from to see about the warrenty but im not holding my breath, anyone know of a good alternative? dont fancy getting version 5.

hi all, my box just went down in waterford, ireland. the movie/sports channels went months ago but dont really care about that...but since earlier today nearly all the other channels are gone except the usual terrestrial channels (sky 1, e4 etc)...even discovery channel, vh1 and nick jr are gone....any help?

if under warranty they should replace it probably with a 5 as 4 is old now,always remember to read the tutorials for these boxes very important.

and by xmas the rest will be gone also,any and all boxes will be of no use by a new thing called nagra3=no fix for any box.

That is because it is for the SV4 not the SV5. You will find the firmware for your box here Digital Kaos - Downloads - TheboxSuperUSB2_v2.03.20090923.BIN
