thats life in this game selling, 5 boxes lost, ?300 lost, but you would of made more out of what you sold, so still in profit.

stick rest on ebay as auction as fta boxes, no returns. then move on to next earner. when your sellinng something like this, shit happens

Good post Mark but Willo might not thank you for letting his punters know he bought boxes for ?60 & they look at what he charged them. If he charged them ?150 & can register mac addresses to clear channels well & good. If he can't register mac
addresses they might as well have bought boxes at car-boot sale.
I imagine if Willo bought boxes from reliable source they would
replace the 5 boxes that won't register. My feeble opinion, but feel I am entitled to it unless otherwise directed by Satsmo.
If supplier won't replace 5 boxes for Willo he should inform them
he will take his custom elsewhere. Gun-to-head often works.
I think he should bear the cost of replacing 5 boxes himself if
supplier won't. Customer goodwill is all important if Willo wishes
to sell boxes in future. You can do 100 good deals & that's fine
Do 1 bad deal & word travels fast

Would love to get you into a court of law with me as judge & no
jury. I would give you small fine for selling illegal boxes
Huge fine for selling unflashed boxes (unfit for purpose)
Long stretch in jail for being a BO**OCKS.
Would also advise you on release from jail to register on forums
using diff user name & IP-address, Satsmo is more ruthless than
any judge & can be unforgiving. He is not restricted by rules of law
Any reputable supplier I know will sell box READY TO GO & will flash box with any required updates for 12 months. That's what they are charging punter for, Supply & service. Why would any
sane person buy a raw box from you when they could buy same
on-line without paying your HANDLING CHARGE. If there is a list
of blacklisted suppliers around you should be top of it.
You could contact ITV's ROGUE TRADERS program, they could devote a whole episode to your operation & your customers
could watch it on your boxes as ITV is FTA channel.

I sold them below my cost price just to clear them. There is no point sitting on dead stock I would rather shift them and recuperate some money for them, instead of having them just sitting here. If I charged ?130 ish then I would offer full support but as I was letting them go over ?50 cheaper than that , I clearly stated that I would not support them, although I am trying to do them a favour. by trying to get their boxes going and working for the purposes they want to use it for.

My distributor is conveniently on holiday now thats why i was hoping for some sort of help on this forum
As for selling boxes that have no capability of working,,that is something i would never do...i think you have read that from someone else in another post who has done

I stand corrected & offer my full apologies, Nokias. If you sold box at reduced price & clearly explained situ. to punters I will plead with jury to give you suspended sentence. It's a good job I'm not a judge, there would be a lot of innocent people strung up.
If you bought boxes from recognized wholesaler tell them to get
mac's registered or you will trade elsewhere in future.

website & tel. no. (preferably landline). Better again get a physical address where business operates from. Anyone buying
in quantity & paying more than ?60 needs to shop around. You
should connect up remaining 5 boxes to register them & then sell
them on. Once mac is registered boxes can be used from diff.

i don't want to make this a personal issue ( thanks for the appology btw ) just to clarify a few points for you

My distibutor has a mobile, an email address , a website, a landline and a shop which i visit.
Everything is trading normally,,his staff are all working, but surely he is allowed a holiday without being accused of being in hiding
I bought all my boxes before SV got busted when the prices where pretty much set, a lot higher than they are now

As for closing the thread.....that was not my intention, but to concur with Satmo's advice that i would not get any more information on here and to press my distrubutor for help,,, hence this has run its course,,,you will notice Satmo thanked me on that post,,so maybe he understood what i meant

As for "young Man" i;m 50 years of age and been involved in Sat for 20 years then cable when that first come out, so please don't patronise me

Would be of help to others if you could post more details.
Were boxes bought from same supplier & at same time.
Are boxes brand new or have they used older f/ware previously.
If we could identify exactly which boxes are not registering we
could find out why. For example if boxes from a particular supplier
are not registering, supplier could be contacted & asked why.
If no contact can be made, name supplier so others won't buy
from them
Might be worth re-flashing friends box, fac-reset,
scan, re-boot router & box etc
