The latest firmware file I've downlaoded is a tiny little thing - 974 kb I believe - is that right? Also I had found a step-by-step idiot's guide to setting up a starview 5 on here a few days ago but forgot to bookmark it - I've searched but can't find it - if anyone has the link to it I'd be eternally greatful...

Thanks a lot Smirnoff - one more question though - when I've downloaded the file (from your link) all I have is a solitary .bin file - is that the only file I need? I've seen lots of posts on here talking of unzipping/un-rarring etc & worried I've got the wrong file...

Thanks a lot mate - I take it that the instructions you posted were for a starview 4 box with the new firmware ALREADY installed? Where abouts does me putting in the USB stick with new firmware fit in? I'm guessing it's somewhere near the start but I wanted some definite advice as I'm desperate not to break it....

Thanks again - so I stick in USB go to Menu, go to USB, update then start to follow the instructions you have shown me? Or should I connect the box up via the cable input first then connect USB etc.

When I've selected the file from the USB stick it's asking if I want to Data Restore? Do I click OK or cancel?
