you aint searched very well m8 there are tuts all over this section on how to setup the sv5 i know because i have posted them.
Tut in the downloads section read it and follow it and you will get what you want

and remember sv4 and sv5 are different boxes with different firmwares correct identification crucial.

Thx again DessertDog - I've now finally managed to run the file and have access to about 20 - 30 channels; but no non-UK channels and a lot of the channels I can get from my Virgin Media package are still blanked out with a $ sign. In short, I've lost about 50 chaneels and gained at 10 new ones. Am I being greedy? I kinnda thought I would have access to 100s channels. Any ideas anyone?

Have you followed the tut carefully ie have you selected your correct provider , have you gone into the secret menu by typing 1570 etc.

Yep - finally got 1570 working then autoscanned all of the following TW, NTL, EX C&W, OM. CHORUS and Chorus Cork. That's all the options I got. Most of the UK-based channels came up with $ signs. Help :-(

Keycode to ON - yep
Set default key - yep

I then exited to Automatic Scan and selected and OK'd the same providers (ie. leave to update didnt do anything). Have I messed up again as I still got loads of channels with $ signs?

Getting starview 5 working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, can anyone help.

Just purchased a starview 5 and i cannot get the latest firmware version 12 to work. It keeps coming up "not a file of this IRD"
I assume i need another firmware unless you know something i don't.

How many channels are ppl seeing? At the moment, I've got pretty much the same as my Vigin Media package plus Sky Movies and a random supply of ~~~~ films (don't tell the missus though). What I really want to view is all the Premiership games which Sky/ESPN don't broadcast. Is there a way of viewing these games via foreign broadcasters - a bit like using P2P to view games via my PC?

no mate, you need a sat system for other footy matches. you only get what vermin or whoever broadcast. i use p2p or adhte or something similar.

Hi guys noob here. Got my SV5 set up and running. I currently have TV and BB with Virgin. However I want to cancel the TV and just keep the BB. Will I still be able to use TV cable in the SV5 or will I need to get a splitter off the BB cable?
