v2.02 suits me fine at the mo unless anyone got any issues with it but seems ok.....

anytime a new box comes out and firmware is prone to bugs so they fix it with an update,so they advise to go with the latest fix.sometimes they say what its for sometimes not.

i have been downloading the files from the site but they save as word documents or internet exploreer documents to my desk top, i am expecting an application. what am i doing wrong!!

I have just purchased a Starview 5 box, firmware V2.03 would not load but V2.02 did and works fine. Thought this may help others with simalar problem.

Not sure why your having probs loading 2.03, loads ok for me & the box works great. I'm well impressed with it.

Try 2.02 if you have problems move onto 2.03 personally i am using 2.02 without
any problems so far.

Starview 4 USB - No channels found

hi guys,

Can anyone help me?
Last few weeks been losing channels and had to keep scanning / reset on almost a daily basis.

This morning lost all channels on the box - did the usual factory reset and rescanning no joy. All I get is no channels found on all providers. Anyone else having similar problems.
S/w version 1.07, boot version b-11, date 22/12/2008

Do i need to load a new version.

I was wondering if this has anything to do with the retuning exercise going on for channel 5 - i read something online yesterday that lots of people may have to retune their TVs - maybe have to also retune the digi boxes ?

R U running the SV5 ? This thread is for the SV5 firmware m8 not the 4 try posting in there it may help you to get an answer

SV5 "not a file of this IRD" error

In the USB update my box is Model ID C531. S/W is 2.00
When I first select the firmware file on the USB (either 2.02 or 2.03) it comes up with the error. If I select the file again it brings up the upload window but remains on 0%.

I formatted the USB stick in the box first.

Any ideas please?

did you format it as the manual says fat32?
if not do it again but on a pc its faster formatting

well impressed with my starview 5 tryed both firmware down loads and box works fine on both,thks to the guys who do all the hard work to find these items
