Hi,
Got my SV5 today connected cable, connected scart, plugged it in switched it on, TV automatically swithed to scart channel however it is saying no signal. So i formated my USB to FAT32 downloaded the latest firmware put it on my USB turned off the SV5 plugged in USB and turned it back on, still saying no signal.
Any ideas?
I'm not even seeing a menu screen, just black and saying no signal, dont think its a scart problem as turning on the SV5 automatically turns the TV over to scart channel.
P.S.
When i turn on the SV5 the display shows
-- -- then
88 82 then
-- -- then
b 01 then
-- --
in quick enough succession if that mean anything to anyone.
Thanks for any help you can give on this, in a complte newbie to it allComment

Thanks for your quick response, it was showing 8882 first time i plugged it in hadnt been near it with usb.
Got it from wiz sat, they good with returns?
Could it have been caused by power issues, it came with standard euro 2 pin plug, i just got a travel adapter to plug it in. Would it be that that done it? I have another box i was gonna use for upstairs but dont want to fry it too if it was me.
Edit:
I tried the other other box i got today as well, exact same, shows in quick sucession -- --, 88 82, -- --, b-01, -- --. This is Brand New just Out of Box as was the other one, no USB has been put near it.
Not sure if it makes a difference but it doesn't say 8882 constantly, only for 1 second when turned on. It's just that when it auto changes the channel to the scart channel it's just a black screen with 'no signal' message from TV.Comment

Im not sure you are correct here m8 my box shows 8882 then follows the same b01 then continues to boot ok the 8882 only apllies when it stays on 8882 where his box does not it continues to boot. You need to download SV2.03 and the tut from the downloads section and follow the tut do NOT insert or remove USB devise while the box is on.If i have helped you please dont post Thanks just use the Thanks buttonComment

ok have you read the tut m8?
make sure the box is off, then insert usb device switch box on and wait dont touch anything until promted
Print the tut out if it helpsLast edited by DESSERTDOG; 5 March, 2010, 23:01.If i have helped you please dont post Thanks just use the Thanks buttonComment

Thanks again mate,
How long should i wait for it to boot and for something to appear on screen?, i've waited around 10 mins still nothing. Will try again in a few mins, gonna reformat the USB and put the firmware on it again, it should be in the form of a .bin right?Comment

mmmmmmmmmm thats a long time think you need to check your connection to the tv m8 switch the box off at the rear and check your connection to tv or make sure you have the tv on the correct av channel
Are you using a scart lead ot phono plugs?
Once the firmware has installed the box should reboot.Yes bin m8 if its a zip you will need to unzip it firstLast edited by DESSERTDOG; 5 March, 2010, 23:49.If i have helped you please dont post Thanks just use the Thanks buttonComment

I'm using a scart and when i put the power on on the SV5 it auto changes the channel on the TV to scart channel (which suggests to me that the scart is connected ok) but it doesn't display any other than the 'no signal' message.
However it's a relatively new TV and i haven't had anything connected via scart before as i use component for my xbox so i'll go get my old TV down and try that to see if its a TV issue.Comment
