LAN HD COMBO or NON LAN

Hi , I am bit confused.
Is my box LAN or NON LAN?

It has both SERIAL port as well as ETHERNET ports behind the back .
so is it LAN or NON LAN.
        Which firmware to use.
        Please advise....

If it has as you said an ethernet port it is a LAN enabled box. So use the LAN only firmware.

Hi m8, they both have the serial port. Go by the ethernet(LAN) socket.
If your box has the ethernet lan socket then its the LAN verson and you will need to select the LAN firmware.

i`ve just read all the posts posted here in this discussion.... im kind put off now from buying one of these boxes now! everyone seems to be having difficulties esp with the newer boxes. I have just recently bought a Samsung 1080p Hd LCD tv and want to get the most out of the tv and so i was thinkin of buying the starview HD combo? however everyone seems to find it problematic. would i be safer to just buy one of the older boxes they seem to be working and encounter less problems. I have sat nt* installed in my house and live in Eastern ireland.

                      any thoughts?
                      thanks Deego.
