if you are in irl the sv6 and cable combo will no longer work as there is nothing at far end,only combo sat side will work.

non lan combo

hi guys im new to all this so at the risk of sounding like an idiot let me proceed.

ive bought a non lan starview hd combo today,tried to do the update thingy but found no usb sub menu in the utilitys section although it did have usb in the accesories section.
managed to get all cable channels by doing the scan although how i did it im not sure becauce the box did not reeboot after i selected the file, not sure i did anything.
when i first turned it on it already had grooverider software on it. is this normal ?

all im trying to find out is has the menu changed or have i got a new type of box.

any comments / help welcome

are you sure it is new box you bought as the first 500 made they found out they needed a lan port,must be over a year old.
does it say combo on front?

yes its definatly a hd combo, it must be an old box then. i didnt want the lan box becauce it sounded like a lot of hassle to set it up. and not sure how long it would last !

i noticed the menu was different so wondered if they made some more.

no only 500 made and different file to be used,you could use it as a freesat box with an old sky dish.

Original Combo HD Non LAN software.

I'm in a V*rgin non N3 area (at moment) & had Grooverider from November 2009 loaded. As it worked most of the time all but a few bugs I have tried to find more up to date software for it but in the process I have took a backward step and put software on it without the 8989 menu. I have tried to put the original software back on but it keeps coming up with error saying check USB. Does anyone know what the latest software is for this box ?. Also do you have to load older versions on first?

Knight rider 0528

Hi guys, i am a newbie to all this technical stuff and starview hd combo plus. Reading all your friendly threads i have been encouraged to ask a question. It might sound silly but if i am understanding correctly the sv hd combo plus is a lan box and the latest firmware for it is knight rider 0528. if this is the correct firmware where can i download it from as it has been a week since my channels have disappeared completely. I currently have grooverider 1214 firmware.

i downloaded a Carling file which seems to be corrupt file and can not load grooverider back on the set top box.
has any one got any file to delete Carling off my set top box.

downloaded the carling file as recommended and nothing happened.
can not reload grooverider back on the set top box,seems this file may be currupt.
can u let me know how to delete this file or send a link/file so i can reload grooverider back on and delete the carling file.

a very big thanks to all who contribute in helping newbies like me try to learn on how to set up our tvs.now for the problem i have come across.i had a sv6 lan put on the firmware worked a treat.sold it on and purchased a starview hd combo + followed the insructions and messed up the mac address which i have now managed to put right through the fix from bigmac.then i put on carling 1.00_0529_error(206) and now all i have is scambled channels.it will not connect all i have is login is failed error code(0).is there anything that i have missed doing or have i put on the wrong firmware.can anyone help please.many thanks

Does this box work in nag3 area.
or is the kryptview a780 the best one to get.
I would like an hd box but the kryptview hd box does not work in nag3.
